Sunny day today on the Mexico Valley. Ana is having surgery later today. I am pretty nervous.

Max:
Tell your lovely Ana i said “oraciones de un amigo a lo lejos”. Peace be with you both.
Great hat!!
Bowen
Ana says: "Ay, díle que es un hermoso, que muchas gracias. Díle que ojalá acepte nuestra invitación para venir a visitarnos."
Which means "Oh, tell him he's a beautiful man, and thank you very much. "Ojalá" is difficult to translate... Etymologically it means "may God want".. Well, then, "Ojalá he will accept our invitation to come to visit us."

Mike, You were the only one that responded so you win by default. The production date was 1961 so a tricky one. I will have to decide on your prize.

Great looking Hat City Hat Co. for you today!
I should have known. Even in the latter days of hats, German makers kept such high standards they look the same as a true classic. The advertisement threw me off...

Mike, It's hard to tell with P. & C. Habig Wien (made in Austria) Homburgs. I am sure I wouldn't guess 1961 based on the photos. Yes an the old French advert didn't help. :)

Today I snagged this hat at an estate sale for $5. Stetson "Genuine Panama". Size 7 3/8. Originally made for the Karner Phillips Department Store in Mexia, TX. It seems like an Open Road in style, though the name not present. Brim is 2 3/4".

Does anyone out there want to take a shot at model and possible year?

Sure is a beauty, and my size too! I don't know the year, but by the weave, you have a quality hat.

With the black sweat and the square size tag I'd take a shot at somewhere in the 1960s. Can you post a pic of the front of the size tag?

Temperatures are down so it's felt time. The Borsalino I traded with Moehawk some time ago (bless him). No colour or name, so I call it Rogers Peet (the shop it came from).

Whatever the colour name, it's a great color. Fine looking hat and outfit.

Showpiece OR Michael. Great look with that shirt.
Thanks Red. I don't get this one out often enough.

Very nice, Michael. That hat can go with anything.
Thanks Stefan. I will continue to test the proposition that it can go with anything. Ha ha.

Hat City Hat Co. from the mid 1950s today. This is my gray "beater" work hat. Doing some yard stuff while it is cool. Felts for the next few days here in Oregon!! Also a shot of the completed fence in the back yard. We left for Seattle on Friday and came home to a beautiful fence. Extra tall too, they added a "grass board" at the bottom, which makes it 7' instead of 6'.

I'd take a beater like that any day. Make that two beaters like that. Like the fence too.

Thanks all,
Michael
