Haven't changed the crease in a felt in a while. Thought I'd see what this one would do would do without steam or water. Jim always wanted to put a diamond in it. Here's my attempt.

Wow and wow!!
Not sure who Jim is but i bet he’d like that crease. Hell, that hat looks like it’d take about any crease known to man with or without steam.
Dayum i do love that hat Bama. Thanks for bringing it out.

Nice. That's one of the hats I have on my bucket list. But, as I said before, ...too bad I'll probably kick that bucket before I ever get one.

That old Champ looks great, lots of character.
Yes, character. The felt pretty much do what the felt want to do on this one.

Felt the need for felt this morning. My first custom from Mike Miller, the 1942 Rose Bowl Fedora in pecan. Brings back memories of the beginnings of my hat addiction journey.

Perfect hat, Red. Think of how much time and money you would have saved if you had stopped at that one. Ha ha.

Very nice, Michael. The sovereign twenty is a beast of a hat.
A beast indeed. Not a good warm weather hat.

Great looking finish on that Champ, Michael. I'm getting a seventies vibe from your outfit today.
Thanks Stefan. A bit of '70s maybe. That's when the jacket is from I think.

Sheeze Michael:
That’s a take me back look!
Haven’t seen bellbottoms since....well Disco days! And that’s a sweet looking jacket. I’ll be a epic cool looking once it gets a few bar fights under it’s belt.
Love everything about the Champ.
B
The bellbottoms are pre-disco. Navy surplus would be the ticket. I think the jacket might be from around the beginning of disco though. The Champ does keep coming out of his corner whenever the bell rings. And I think he's seen a few rounds.

Thanks all,
Michael

Happy Tuesday, gents. Here's my response to Alan's admittedly better Stetson straw. Still trying to master the art of taking hat photos, like you guys do. 90+ degrees today, this 1940's boater keeps me cooler than that Sea Spray straw. Glad I made the switch. This one takes a bit of courage to wear, though

A thin ribbon Borsa? I've seen a few of them on eBay at one time or another. I think Max got this one from Anthony. I've always wanted one but never had the money to get it.
I did, Terry. Never woulda thought of it on my own... Well, maybe in some years. When I was deciding whether to go all in on Anthony's sell-off, Brent @deadlyhandsome told me that the sting of the expense would recede, but the hats would last a lifetime, and more. He was right. The hats have made me feel richer than the money would have. I love rubbing my chin in the morning while thinking "well, whose turn is it today?"

Outstanding Max! Your poor Optimos must be lonely.

Afternoon haircut with the Montecristi. My local barber shop happens to also be attached to a Stetson / Dobbs hat shop. "Mad Hatters Brim Shop and Shave Parlor". It's a tiny vintage era 2-chair barber shop in the center of old downtown Georgetown where you can pour yourself a whiskey from the bar or grab a cold beer from the fridge at no extra charge. Walked in today for my haircut with the Santa Fe Montecristi on top. My barber stopped dead in his tracks and his mouth dropped open. Whoa, where did you get that one, he says. He asked me at least 5 times if I would sell it to him, all the time wanting details about the hat. Really nice place, excellent Barber, and always get to talk hats while getting a great haircut and shave. Nope, did not sell it. :)

Sounds like a cool barber shop set up. The only thing that would make it better would be a shoe shine stand! I want this here in Oregon. That hat must have caused quite a stir!

That Cav is just crazy Greg. This crease sends it to a whole new level. Wow!

Out running errands in the Leone Capelli Milan that Mike Miller repaired for me. Only 89°F today. Whew!

Oooh, I like the color of this Milan. What did Mike do to spiff it up? Nice pug.

Wearing a boater in today's culture is a real statement! You look great, rinse and repeat!
