In a few hours, the weekend will be upon us. Happy Friday, all. Quite the hat parade the last few days. I'm especially enamored of Mike's (@Redfokker) new Granite. Good job, sir.

Went with a recent production Excellent Stratoliner today.

This morning a vintage 1930's Stetson Beachcomer was my hat of choice. Oh yes a 58f' start to the day!

Lots of action in the old town today. Ragbrai is stopping here for the first time in many years. Live music and beer gardens starting at noon. Should be a wild time, for some folks at least.

Thank you buddy. I guess it could better be described as a shorter napped longhair with a brushed finish that's silky and smooth. It definitely has a nice hand.

Lees of London c1950. Had the brim changed so I could wear it as a fedora. Whip stitch by Mike Miller of NW Hats. Off for a procedure at the hospital and then errands. Cool morning. I'll have to come back to catch up with all the great hats this morning.

Yes, a city on two wheels looking for a good time. Ha ha. For those who haven't heard of it, the (Des Moines) Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa is a seven day ride across the state beginning with one wheel dipped into the Missouri River to start and the other into the Mississippi to end. There are something over 10,000 registered riders and about the same number or more of unregistered. An annual event since 1973. A big time party on wheels, in other words.

Cooling off in the backyard this eve with the Akubra Imperial Stylemaster / Carbon Gray. Changes colors in different light, medium grays to bluish grays.
