We went out the Columbia Gorge today, stopping at Crown House on the old Crown Point Hwy, then to Multnomah Falls. A nice day all around... still only 74F here. Sorry for you gents in the high heat and humidity.

I wore my custom steel Penman and Sandra wore her 50s Cavanagh.

Wife and I fell in love with these mountains and scenery and had to move here...These pics are a perfect example...

He was actually Kenny G's sax instructor; mine too, back in the 70s.

Dang I like that hat. The natural felt is truly a favorite. Your ribbon gives the hat big eye appeal.

Really have to get more head time for the natural felt.

Best, Eric -
The natural felt hats you and Jim commissioned were what got me to look at natural felt to begin with, Eric. Thanks for that!

In spite of some most stellar feller hat’s of late. I’m still walkin in circles over Doc’s CC and Tuk’s Black Cherry!!!
I will continue on with today’s diminutive Borsalino.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing an unlined Vagabond you would appreciate this little guy. So comfy and light! Unreeded, corrugated sweat. No name in Caffe.
Be well. Bowen
The Borsalino is strong with this one Luke...

Thanks Stefan! I'm lucky I was able to land it.

Thanks again! The nice unlined one for under $60? Yes... :)

Nice one Perry. Felt weather or felt cravings?
Home in California...

...and I think I might not leave this time.
You might see a lot of this hat over the next week.

Then this Melvin Panama

Then this Dobbs Hanover Square

Great parade of hats, Michael. The Melvin would have worked just as well, I think. It's an excellent look.

The Kitty bite gives it character Stefan. He seemed to like that weave.

Classy Stetson Perry!

Great images Jeff. Love the lines on that one, is it the Falcon Park again?

Nice one Bob, not my style exactly, but I'd wear it.

All great choices Michael. I really like that Biltmore straw hommie. Need one for "formal" wear in the heat.
Not crazy hot today so my lightweight Portis New Slant will ride with me to campus. Even though this hat is lined, It is light as a popcorn fart. It should keep the sun off later this afternoon.

Thanks, Mike. Every straw should develop a bit of character. So do felts for that matter. That Portis looks cool; gotta love these lightweight felts.

Montecristi 800wpsi with 3in brim and new pug band from VS.
About to depart to Acapulco on a short vacation. I will only take two straws with me: This Palmas Panama and my Optimo Milan.
My Optimo Panama stays home in the safe. Too valuable to risk damage to.

Great straws gentlemen. Strikes me that much of the look of a straw is defined by the hat band.

My $5.95 Marathon today. I paid a bit more than that but it still has the price tag. I can't quite decide brim up or down but that may change by the day. I'm also not really sure about the thin band width and very tempted to put an 1-1/4"ish one on. It's lasted this way for a very long time and it seems almost wrong to change it. Nice find. I know what you mean about changing a hat. But we are probably more purists about it than they were back in the day.

Have a good one,

That suit does need a topper, Michael. I'm surprised that you don't own one. You're a size 7 right?
