Sexy hat. Borsalino seems to be among the highest respected hatters on the Lounge. Your hat reminded me why i want a Borsa. Is this example 40s?
Thank you Mondo for the kind words. It is a nice hat. Borsalinos can be difficult to date and i am but a neophyte in that regard. Perhaps others more expert can weigh in on the age. Good luck in your hunt for a Borsa. With patience you will land some good ones.

Very slow day here in the thread, as was yesterday.

Oh well, happy Hump Day.

Olive green Dalton, one of my favorite "go to" lids.

Tried my new OR 6X with the brim snapped down today. What kind of tape is used for a hat that is too big?

Looks good, use anything you have handy. I’ve pulled folded newspaper, foam weatherstripping and lots of other stuff out of old hats. Still waiting to find a couple of $100 bills in one.

Lovely hat and nice sharp crease you've put in there, Michael.
Thanks Stefan. I figured these cool mornings were an opportunity to cycle through a few ORs again. Sadly, the cool mornings appear to be at an end.

Beautiful hat, Michael. No hats were harmed by the falling drops I gather...
No damage done.

Fantastic stetson. Michael
I think this is a later model, maybe early '60s.

You've pulled out a fabulous lineup of Borsalinos again I see. Very nice hats and outfits.

Thanks,
Michael

This Dalton is one of my oldest hats. These things are nigh impossible to date, but I have a completely speculative theory about the liner tip logos. The ones with "World's Finest," like this one and the blue Waverly, are pre WWII. They changed to "America's Finest" during the war, to capture the patriotic sentiment. It doesn't seem they were sold much, if at all, outside the States, though Steve (@mayserwegener) found a liner tip dye block in a European purchase of those things a couple years ago. We know the rights to the name were sold in 1953, and few later examples of this brand have been seen beyond that era (a few stingy late 50s-early 60s hats that don't appear to be from the original factory).

Always enjoy seeing this one. Great theory and enjoyed the history, Jim.

Hello to everyone, as you know or you know now summer is not the best season to wear hats :(

A very interesting panama for my taste and for my will not to spend a lot of money for a straw hat ;)

Summer is still fresh here, so I can stand it, but some heat is coming from North Africa and the weekend will be "boiled"

Have a nice day and I really can't mention every good hat I saw in the last week, so compliments to everyone!

Looking TERRIFIC Dan!!! I love that lid, my friend, but respectfully disagree about summer not being great for hat-wearing. That one is perfect protection from problems, according to the dermatologists!

Ciao! from Charlie!!
