Just found this fur felt hat at the local thrift store. Don't know much about it. Says Charles Ogilvy Ltd. Rideau St. (Ottawa).

Price tag says 20.00.

Genuine Fur Felt on the side as well as "Twenty"

My problem is my big long oval head may he a bit too much for this 7 3/8.

7 1/2 is more my size.

We would thank the one who gives us a hat but do we thank the ONE who gave us the head on which to wear it?

I’ve never heard if this brand. Wholesalers and retailers had hats made by the true manufacturers using a myriad of names. This rebranding can keep these hats’ true lineage a mystery, but sometimes there are hints.

For my personal taste, the hat does appear to be a bit too small. Sorry.

That reminds me, I need to refill my bike water bottle.

Have a good one,

Keep cool, looking cool Michael.

Back to some warmer, drier weather today. Wearing the Frunoberger.

Good to see the Frunoberger Jim. Love the gills.

I like that open weave in the crown of this one Bob.

Light grey D'Aquino today. Same recipe as yesterday. Rain in the morning, sun in the afternoon.

I like the color of this one Serge. What are your thoughts on this brand. After seeing the nice ones Brent had made, I'm interested in ordering one.

Good looking straw Bob. Is the Vitamin A a custom maker?

Thanks, Mike!

As you know, these hats are fairly affordable. For me they are nice, basic quality fur felt hats. Compared to my custom hats it's easy to spot the differences. Less fine pouncing, cheaper sweat and ribbon. Brim binding can be somewhat crude. there's also a limit on crown height, brim width and taper (or lack of taper[emoji3])

Not meaning to knock the brand at all! They provide a nice hat for cheap. And i wear them regularly. You definitely get your money's worth.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions, feel free to contact me.

Trip to PDX today to drop off a paper. Stopped by the Oregon Rail Heritage Museum (not open, damn). Wearing a Cappas Bogart straw in front of a vintage 36' Northern Pacific wood caboose.

Nice looking hat Red. And it reminds me that I need to make a paisley pug.

Keep cool, looking cool Michael.
Thanks Red. I stayed cool until the last leg of the ride home. The Dobbs served me well and I'm sure it was see a lot of scenery this summer. I gave it a rest when I got home and changed to the Melvin Panama.

Hey Serge,

Have you tried Agnoulita Hats from Greece? They are slightly more than D’aquino but I’ve found the quality to be quite a bit better. Just curious if your experience was similar.
Thanks, and good looking hat.

Brent
