Harv and Esther, you look so content in the pic. Enjoy the special time. Oh yes, great hats.

Dang that is a terrific hat. CONGRATS!

Richard that is a really special hat. My vote leave the unique ribbon treatment. I really enjoy the ribbon pugs that are on a couple of my hats. So cool! Congrats!

Thank you, Eric. Love yours today, too.

Lovely morning for coffee in the yard, watching the local fauna wreak it's annual havoc on the local flora.

Genovese Ecosca in the elusive Narvalo. Thick and zesty velour.

That's is an EXTRAORDINARILY zesty looking hat. The liner tip is fantastic.

Thanks for the narwhal pic, too. It led me to discover that the Inuit have a legend about how the narwhal and its tusk came to be.

According to the story, a cruel woman was persuaded by her son to tie the end of a harpoon rope around her waist. When he threw the weapon and successfully struck a large whale—which he had deliberately aimed to hit—she was pulled into the ocean. There, in the dark depths, she became a narwhal and bore a tusk formed from her hair, which had become twisted around the rope.

Borsalino colors can be educational... how's about that?

I. Am. In. Love.

New arrival yesterday after a fortuitous BIN on the Bay late last week. ~1940s J.C. Penney Marathon Supreme Quality thin ribbon. This thing is perfect. Spent some time with the steamer and an iron last night to open it back up and give it a good brushing, but it didn't need much. The color is blue/grey and by my eyes these outdoor photos are pretty accurate.

Thanks for the notes and for the story, Matt. I seem to remember reading that the tusk is actually a tooth rather than a horn. I also enjoy the learning that comes along with looking up Borsalino felt colors... have met minerals and metals I didn't know before. I've wished the model names worked the same way. Usually with these I come up empty on a translation search.

Greetings Richard et al:
I too was watching this hat. How could i not? Gorgeous pristine Royal Blue liner, unique ribbon, a one of a kind hat. I was ready to go all in in violation of my “no more hats” edict. I regret my obedience but celebrate your victory. A fine fine hat Sir. Hope to see much more of it as we “watchers” vicariously wear it with you!!
Good go!
Be well. Bowen
