Dog walk and ice chipping by the boathouse all wearing a vtg. Stetson Bantam. This hat of Australian origin is a lovely blue hued felt. As the leather sweat says, "pure fur felt."

This Autralian fedora is living on my hat rack in Minnesota, USA and working this morning in the snow/ice. A hat well traveled.

"Pure fur felt." What would be not pure fur felt? Wool/fur mix? A marketing term for sure and the context is long lost for me.

The liner is very cool. Apologies for the damp nature, but I have just completed some hard effort. I wiped the liner and leather with a handkerchief I keep in my slacks for such a purpose.

And thanks to you, I just learned that in British English, Canadian English, Irish English, Australian English, South African English, and New Zealand English the noun is spelled licence and the verb is license.

Neat.

Together the folks on the forum cast a behemoth hat shadow. I am always amazed at the fine lids showcased. Thanks.

I suspect you are correct. A majority of Australian acreage does not get much in the way of cleansing rain. Marketing - sheesh.

Thanks Matt. Having a father who is a retired English Professor I am was made familiar with license (noun and verb), licensable (adj.), Licenseless (adj.), Licensor /licensor (noun), de-license (verb), and non licensable (adj.). I suspect in leagl speak other variations are used. Word usage and spelling can really obsfucate rather than clarify.

Yes, the Haflingers mostly see slipper duty, but I seem to have worn up a blister on one heel yesterday so I needed a shoe what wouldn't continue to rub on that spot.
