Great looking lids this crisp morning. Never let a good thin ribbon go to waste. I just finished reblocking and reworking this Stagecoach conversion in Chestnut to a larger size. I found a two ply thin ribbon that matched it perfectly and used it. Clean and simple. It sports a tall straight crown with a 2 3/4 brim and a deep teardrop crease. I've been watching some old film noir movies where some had been wearing tall and straight crowned thin ribbons and I like the look.
The pictures don't seem to capture the color that well. I'll have more in the Conversion Corral after I get better pictures...

Ecuyer & Thomas "Diplomatique" worn before the great rain

It is an unusual color homburg. It is ripe red cherry
The shapes are the imposing ones of this type of hat made before the Second World War

The felt is very thin and malleable, finished very well. The sweatbandis very thin and light

There is no lining, just a tip with the brand. Not even a paper label

The hat arrives new and never used by a leftover stock of the A. Meer hats shop in Strasbourg.

Thanks for your likes of the past few days, I have not responded adequately to a home computer failure.
Good Monday froma a rainy Verona
Absolutely beautiful Ecuyer & Thomas Daniele! Love that color and imposing dimensions.
Did you check the sweatband seam to see if a paper label was used as the tape like the one I posted? I'd never seen that before I bought mine.

A new one today. I picked this up as a size 58 hat (for one of my fellow loungers maybe), but when I got home I found a label with the size 57 on it. In actual fact it barely fits my 56 sized head. Overbeck in black with a nice triple stitched brim binding. Overbeck doesn't ring a bell, but it resembles a hat I have made by Mayser.

Don't know the brand, but a very stylish hat!
Well done, Stefan!
