Yesterday, at a Buffalo Museum of Science symposium... Elosegui and Brother Guy Consolmagno of the Vatican Observatory. I've been enjoying this beret lately.

I thought Homburgs would have a wider brim. I might be mistaken of course.

I always have thought of trilbys as smaller dimensions, some snap to brim but no edge binding and no curl to edge of brim, and taperd crown.

Homburgs have curled brim with binding and little taper to crown. Usually a center crown dent but the crown can be other bashes.
When I look at that hat it looks like a Homburg to me. It has more presence and quality. I always think of trilbys as lower quality felt hats. Maybe they aren't but they look it to me. I would expect a trilby to be less than $100 and Homburgs to fetch >$200

Woke up today and discovered (once again) that "Resistol"ance is futile.

This Beaver Twenty is one of those hats that I wish I could somehow transmit through the internets so that you guys could handle it. The felt is so darned thin and supple. It just has an extraordinary consistency and feel. I'm gonna bring it when we have a Fedorafest.

GODSPEED!

Handsome homburg, Matt. You don’t see many Resitol burgs. What’s the vintage on that one? Perfect brown color.

If I touch it on my laptop screen, it feels really smooth Matt. But I agree, this one is tops in my book.

Thanks D. Thanks Bowen.

Since I was a teenage Deadhead it was my dream to get a jacket like this. Last new year's day I found a white linen jacket at Goodwill and sent it to a fantastic dye guy in Georgia. I was flabbergasted by the results. Very cool. It sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks. @bond replaced it. He does great work. Thanks Stefan.

Yeah... Yet one more hat fantasy! Both hats are great. But, what a beautiful homburg! The coat is fantastic, too. Thanks Moe. I have wondered whether that's what they were going for (maybe with pheasants and quail, too).

Thank you, Matt. The Barbisio is really special. Not really a homburg, but more like a fedora pretending to be one.:)
