Matt that is one beautiful brimaliscous hatCrofut & Knapp Forty (a.k.a. Bill's Favorite of My Hats).
The felt seems to reflect some of the color from the blue sky when the hat is in the shade. I never noticed that before.
Have a hap-happ-happy rest of the day.
And, because... Well... You know...
A beauty Bill, are the ribbon and brim binding original?Yes it is indeed my favorite of yours. Crofut & Knapp also made my favorite.

Thank you ScottyRocksThat one's got 'majesty' and 'power' written all over it.
That's a pair of fine hats today EricThanks sir. Your hat rack is equally populated.
Thanks Bill.
Mike, thanks sir. Styl'n today.
Thanks Rick.
Cutting some paths thru the yard in a Knox Twenty mid-day. This vintage hat left the house with a soft diamond crease and side dents. The brush and tree limbs shaped the hat naturally. A hat in a "natural" shape is shown in the following pics.
Best, Eric -
Most Excellent JustinNew arrival, 30s standard quality.
Nice one MoeHey all!
I don't know much about this John Batterson other than the retailer that sold it changed it's name in 1966. I think it has a late 50's vibe, with it's dimensions and straight sided block.
It has something about the felt that's hard to describe without handling it. Kind of like that intangible something about Vita-Felt that escapes explaination for those who have experienced it. But different.
Anyhoo, it's a great color for this Spring-like afternoon.
Have a great day!

Two great hats in one day, you're outdoing yourself there MOeToday's wearing of the John Batterson has been pre-empted by the arrival of a package from lands far far away. In said package were objects of great wonder and beauty, including this Hückel Weilheim.
Late afternoon light doesn't do it justice. Stefan posted some WAY better pics of it than my meager photography skills could produce in the German and Austrian thread. Check it out!
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming, after a word from our sponsor, Gritty Kitty Kitty Litter. Stays Crunchy...Even In Milk.

Thanks Richard. That was a nice Sovereign you were wearing today. Is the felt on that one thick? It almost looks western weight in the photos.very nice OR Michael
Thanks Michael, it does have a thicker than felt than a normal dress weight hat but it's not as stiff as a western. Thanks Richard. That was a nice Sovereign you were wearing today. Is the felt on that one thick? It almost looks western weight in the photos.
Thanks,
Michael
The finish looks incredible! Perfect profile. Another stunning hat!Hut-Seidl München "Garant" made by Mayser Ulm probably mid 1950s and a recent addition.
I don’t really know. The second hand shop I bought it from was not a hatter in any sense of the word. But before them - who knows?A beauty Bill, are the ribbon and brim binding original?
Always love a Lord's Hat Stefan. This one is a real stunner.Staalmeester lords hat today. Don't wear it often, but I should: it's super comfy.

Great hat and tie Mike.
Thanks DD. I'm really liking your Stetsons too.
Great look, Mike. But what will people look at first: the tie or the hat? My money's on the hat...
Sweet combo! I loooove that tie.
Super looking hat and super looks with the new tie Red. Love it all.
Michael
Woof! I love the color--it catches the attention without being obnoxious about it. That alone might make me meditate on having a Homburg on my neanderthal noggin.
Very sharp Mike, perfect tie with that hat and suit
And good Looking!!!Staalmeester lords hat today. Don't wear it often, but I should: it's super comfy.

All great hats, but the VS and the Dennis Brooks really stand out.My past couple of days: a Trimble, a VS, a Dennis Brooks, and a back seat full of choices because I’m too tired to put them away today.
