Shades of brown this morning. A vtg.Stetson Open Road in a carmel/tan hue. This hat is a pristine thin ribbon example of the venerable Open Road. I am wearing it with pride this morning.

3X Clear Beaver is a measure of the translucency of the critter from which the felt was made. You can see through a 10X Clear Beaver more easily than you can see through a 5X Clear Beaver.

Here is a photo of 5X Clear Beaver. In spite of my diligent search, I could not find an image of a 3X one.

The felt seems to reflect some of the color from the blue sky when the hat is in the shade. I never noticed that before.

It's got the same ribbed treatment on the sweatband as my charcoal Twenty that I wore a couple of days ago. That's a lovely finishing touch. Does it have the Knox logo on the wind-trolley button, too?
