Now, I'm gonna take an opposite approach and post a pic of a very nice hat (Best Made Company - Stetson 6X) that simply does not work with/for me. (That's why I have it on the Classifieds).
Way too wide a brim and a little too Western for me. I see others here with similar wide brimmed Western style and they happen to wear it very well. Me, not so much, or rather not at all. I think if it doesn't sell soon, I may have the brim trimmed a bit and just keep it.

Looks good @bobm , you're probably just not used to it . You might try having the brim curled . That'll shorten it up . Check out Western , anyone ? Thread and desert dan's Resistol Topeka . Nice Packer , Filson ? When you really need that collar its nice to have .

We'll have to agree to disagree, I'm afraid. I think it looks great on you.

True, I'm not used to it, but Western hats really wouldn't work for me, perhaps if I were out West, or lived that lifestyle - even on a semi-regular basis, I'd give it a go, as it would be a stylish, but practical hat, rather than what I would feel - as if I were wearing a "costume hat." As the saying goes, "the hat would be wearing me, rather than me wearing the hat." And here in NJ/NYC, that one would be wearing me for sure.

Yes, sir. A Filson. It's way too warm here in NJ today, but I just put it on to take a pic with that hat. I did a review many moons ago on Filson's site about that Packer coat and will say that the shearling collar really makes the coat so warm and can keep your whole face - except the top of your head warm in the coldest of weather.

Love the Marathon, happy to see it. Looks like you are ready for the day.
Thanks Red. I managed to get out on the bike today, finally. I've been lazing on it. I wore my Canadian army cap for the trip and when I got back I took a snap with the leather jacket I found, though I was wearing the Woolrich while out and about.

Only ventured out for a quick errand this morning. Wore my Stetson Royale Deluxe late 50s fedora. This hat is light as a feather, works well for fall/spring wearing. Now I'm hunkered down finishing a research paper on the Espionage and Sedition Acts of WWI. I can do a 12 pager standing on my head, just put it off too long. Now to decide what hat to wear when I deliver it to campus tomorrow.

Good looking Royal Deluxe Red. I found one of those in the vintage store, but it was a stingy and overpriced. It's under consideration in other words. Ha ha.

Thanks,
Michael

Sunday funday...

Out looking for whatever it is that I'm looking for with the Julius Garfinkel & Co. homburg and the denim jacket my dad painted for his weirdo teenage son.

Let the freak flags fly.

Deadhead in a homburg, Jerry would be proud of you

One of my favorite color combos. Love a burgundy ribbon works great on gray or tan very nicely. Have a great day Richard.
Thanks Mike, and I did have a wonderful day.

Looking good with all that sunshine John. One of my favorites.

Another gorgeous day! If only the sun didn't set so soon. Lock and Co for Brooks Brothers covering my out of control hair.
