There's a thread subject discussing the various "Fawn" colors Akubra offers. In humor, Bob posted a photo of Tawny Kitaen from a Whitesnake video (you know the one). It was deleted. Bob asked in the thread, "Why?" Crickets. So, Bob being Bob, he reposted it. Now he's gone.

Like Ant said, this reeks of vendetta and personal animosity, not enforcement of any rules. There are regularly photos of scantily clad women in many threads - some vintage, some modern. In addition, many members skate the language line pretty close and some have crossed it. These folks aren't banned.

Not to mention one member who, in a forum that supposedly eschews politics, regularly craps up nearly every thread she's in with boorish political claptrap (and is worshipped around here).

I'm inclined to join Ant and Karl at the bar down the street. I've really loved this place since I joined and have had a great time. Made new and interesting friends. But this is a real turn-off.

But i must point out, having been the head of a local union chapter some 10+ years during bargaining, grievance hearings, strikes etc etc, the Value of having “people inside”. Well this party really took a hard left turn...

I dig the rules here. No politics, religious, or overly offensive language or content? I love it. I'm sure that seems contradictory to what some followers on my instagram may believe, but in a shared forum that welcomes anyone with a mutual interest or two, leaving divisive opinions and attitudes at the door is why, in my opinion, this forum has worked and why probably lots of us are here more than we're on Facebook. (I actually performed a coup de grace on mine months ago.)
Despite that likely many of us may have differing opinions on a wide range of things, we keep it quite civil here. It's a respectful environment. And respectful disagreements are rare these days.
What's been done with Bob however doesn't qualify as respectful, in my opinion. It seems clear that someone or someones want Bob outta here for good, and to me that seems like a gross abuse of power. If a person in charge is taking a personal stance against a member here, in my eyes, it's making things "political" and unjust.

I personally don't believe in outright boycotts but I'd certainly sit with the others at the proverbial bar down the street for a drink as often as I would here.
Now if only this bar were an actual physical place...

Anyway, brims up for Bob, diamond creases for Ant, and tennis shoes with fedoras for Karl.

I wrote a PM to one of my TFL friends today, (still sounds strange to my non Facebook participating ass) that one of life's injustices is the arbitrary enforcement of an unwritten rule, or the written rule for that matter. Years in law enforcement taught me that the "totality" of the circumstances really matter.

When I first went to work in the business the city had a local ordinance titled "Provocation". On the street we called it POP, or in simple terms, Pissing Off the Police. It basically meant, say something I don't like, you're going to jail. This law was soon struck down in the higher courts after I was hired. It was widely abused. May have used it myself, once or twice. Not a good thing then or now as it applies here.

I feel we need and deserve to know more about what happened to one of our own.

No one should think of quitting or anything rash...just asking in respect to any and all bartenders would be far better and less of a mess.

You all have to remind yourself, some of the most sweet and dear souls here are the Bartenders.....and we are all "here" for being a family.
