Apologies for lack of head shots. It's dark when I get to work, and dark when I leave.

Great hat, but where are all of the cubots? Was it harvest time recently?

Thanks Perry. I need to get this hat out more often.

National Park Service leather and sterling band. And some shearling and army surplus to go with it.

That's a great outfit Michael, the hat and shearling look like they were made for each other.

I dusted off the 1942 Rose Bowl custom this morning. My first from Mike Miller at NW Hats. Classic lines based on a photo in the 1942 OSU Beaver yearbook.

Aha! Where it all began for me with NW Hat Co as well. I had your Rosebowl hat in m yhand just before Mike put the sweat/liner into it. Once I saw the pecan felt, I knew I needed one too. So my first NW Hat is a pecan beaver felt, too! I believe yours is a more classic fedora from the time period, mine being a little taller/blockier looking with a 5-3/4" open crown, center dent, and a 2-5/8" brim.

I always love seeing this hat. Top shelf classy right there, Mike!

I love it too Michael! I've wanted one of these "flat hats" for quite some time and was gifted one last month by a friend of ours that was a National Park Service Ranger for many years. It's not as old as yours (Stetson 3X from the 1970s) and doesn't fit me (it does fit my wife, of course). I'll try and get pics of it up when I'm back in town next week. Here is a pic of our friend sporting the hat in the 1970s while working at the St. Louis Arch (Jefferson National Expansion Memorial).

This one arrived last night. Needs a bath and the sweat has some stitches gone. More on Post New Hats
Looks like a great find, Richard!

Very nice, tall Adam, Perry! I've tried bidding on a few Adam hats but they continue to evade me!

Thanks DD. This shearling coat does seem to go well with any hat of a western bent. I've been enjoying the hat shaping skills you've been putting on display recently.

Cool story Bob. Will look forward to seeing the hat. Is your wife going to keep the dents or go with the flat top look? To me these models look and measure closest to the pre-1900 Boss types.

Fantastic outfit, Michael. I love the hat as well as that coat!
Thanks Doug. I've really been enjoying all of your recent hat shots. You are getting to have quite a collection.

Thanks all,
Michael

Last week there was one of these in great condition but size 6 3/4 sitting in an antique shop in Huntsville for cheap, but I don't know anyone who could wear it so I left it. It took me 30 minutes to walk away from it though.

Christy's Adventurer Poet this morning.
That may be my favorite hat of yours. The deep, rich, brown color is incredibly appealing.

Yeah... That's a great hat. A spot on homage to the '42.
