My Wednesday through Friday hat, a Mansfield Duracraft homburg, served me well for the Duke Ellington tour in Rapid City.

That ribbon is really great, is it kind of a gold? or more of a true yellow? Love the contrast, impressive.
Thanks Mike.

The ribbon is much more like gold than yellow. It's an unusual color though. It leans towards "orange-ishness".

My thought is that whoever chose that ribbon back in the thrilling days of yesteryear was a friggin' genius. I'd gladly give him or her a hug!

Of course, that'd probably be gross since that soul is now undoubtedly deceased. Perhaps a posthumous medal is a better idea.

Here is a close-up from last winter.

Happy Saturday.

It might be my imagination, but it looks like I see more homburgs in action lately. That can only be a good thing. This one is very unusual, Matt. I like its look. Very uncommon to see the brim binding darker than the ribbon. That ribbon looks almost orange on my screen. How would you describe its colour?
I don't think that it is your imagination, Stefan. And I agree... that's a good thing.

I'm a homburgophile and love seeing the form break free of the stiff, formal cultural bonds that have shackled it for so long. My thought is that it works great with casual attire (especially with a pinch in the front of the crown). Lots of folks around here masterfully pull off the look.

As for the ribbon color on the Vita-Felt... see my response to Mike just a few minutes ago.

Stefan , Matt Barns is the Homburg Man . He got a lot of guys into Homburgs , and Homburgs with side dents . He's got some great ones . And if you happen to be in Virginia Beach and need an attorney he's a handy guy to know . A really nice guy too .
Ha!

Thanks Michael. Homburg Man... I think that those guys are @mayserwegener and @Daniele Tanto. I'm but a dog at their feet eating scraps!

Plus... I'm not that nice of a guy and I got my law degree from a correspondence school advertised on a book of matches: The Jollyfat's Weehauken School of Legalizificating.

I am in Virginia Beach, though.

Wow, tough choices indeed but the haar heather wasn't beaten into a clear second as I scrolled down.

No hat day here as Storm Brian is here. Why are they naming storms now? It's very Monty Python. It just looks like any dreary day out there. Maybe I'll do a still life shot later if I continue to successfully convince myself to not start sanding the pine ceiling in the kitchen.
Hahaha! I stopped watching the Weather Channel a few years ago when they started that name everything jackassery.

Hope that life through Brian is as fun as this bit from the life of a Brian.

Great look with that Whippet Michael. Cool tie as well.
Thanks Red. Gotta love a Whippet anytime and Harris Tweed is made for the autumn.

Outstanding look Michael!

You've been a bit conservative lately so I'm going to need you to push the envelope a bit more. You know what I like. :D

Ha ha, thanks Bob. I was seriously eyeing my red plaid suit this morning, but decided to go with one I had never worn before. Another 88 cent special.

Thanks all,
Michael

So elegant and formal that is the right hat for a Saturday like this.
Thanks for the likes on the Stetson Absinthe.
Buona domenica!!!
