This whitetail across the street seemed to be taking quite the interest in my photo shoot.

Matt, always good to see you. Classic Dobbs. What year was it made?

Moe's Dunlap panama from his recent straw scoop reminded me to get down my Dunlap duplex for another wear before the chill sets in to stay. The straw weave signature of the crown in both hats is very similar.

Alan... that hat is so neat.

Every time I see it, I bust out in a Cheshire Cat grin.

Just marvelous.

Thanks D. Right back at you.

My recollection is that back bows were considered hip pretty briefly, largely in the latter half of the fifties. The brown oval size tag was used by Dobbs from the early '50s into the early '60s. The liner crest appears in early '60s Dobbs.

So, my best estimate is right at the end of the fifties or very early in the sixties.

Be well & have fun.

Matt

Today fog and some cold, the right time for a homburg made in France probably in the forties

Soft felt in a very delicate nuance of brown, without lining, only a patch into the crown

Buon giovedì
Many, many thanks for all the likes on the Borsalino "Corteccia"

Thanks Matt. Your Dobbs of today is another fine hat. Did you resupply while you were on hiatus?
Michael

Thanks Michael.

I wish!. But alas... no new to me hats for quite a while now. This'n was one of my early acquisitions.

Of course, now that I'm back getting my eyeballs regularly assaulted by Lounge hats, it's only a matter of time (probably brief) before I cave in to the incessant siren song of the hat monkey.

Thanks Michael.

I've been on a break, more or less, from acquiring new hats too. Will probably stay in that mode for awhile.

Thanks all,
Michael
