Great looking hat, Anthony, but difficult on my screen to determine the real colour because it seems to vary in the pictures. Does the colour maybe vary depending on the lighting?

I got followed by the police for 5 minutes today, I was walking with my daughter to pick my son up from school. They kerb crawled just behind us. I ended up reasoning they were checking out the hat. It was odd, but as they eventually passed us as I was about to stop walking and ask wtf?, the chap in the passenger seat was just staring at it.

Thanks! The hat is navy with a darker navy ribbon. Steve would be a better source for the dating... my guess would be later 1930s - 1940.

Thanks! Yes midnight blue is accurate. For the color Wegener used a nearby town name "Dillenburg" which is known for something called the Blue Hour (right before the day turns into night).
