This has been a great week for hats! Today, my Hückel Chamois arrived from France. Having the hat in hand, it appears to be newer than the auction description, I never believe them anyway. The finish is so...chamois like. Feels really good and supple. The details of this hat are all of high quality. I took a chance on a 7 3/8 thinking I could shim it. My Borsalino 58cm is really small, but it appears that Hückel is more true to size. Love the hat, I might let it go to a larger noggin Lounger at some point. Trade material?

502nd Infantry 101st Airborne Div. I was in the 3 Battalion that lost 248 troopers returning from the MFO mission. Plane went down 12 Dec 85. Not the best X-mas for sure.

First Cub Scout Pack meeting this school year last night. We had about 15 new recruits, and only 5 kids bridged to Boy Scouts, so we'll have about 60 kids in the pack this year. The hat could use some improvement though - which is why I am in the queue for a 100% beaver campaign hat from Mike at Northwest Hats. Hope to have it before the Scout holiday dinner and town tree lighting ceremony!

Thanks Perry. The jacket is an Amana Woolen Mills model that I recently found. First day it's been cool enough to try it out. The boots are Red Wing Iron Rangers and are also a recent find. I'm liking them a lot.

First Cub Scout Pack meeting this school year last night. We had about 15 new recruits, and only 5 kids bridged to Boy Scouts, so we'll have about 60 kids in the pack this year. The hat could use some improvement though - which is why I am in the queue for a 100% beaver campaign hat from Mike at Northwest Hats. Hope to have it before the Scout holiday dinner and town tree lighting ceremony!

Looks good. My favorite thrift recently had a vintage Official Scoutmasters hat. It was gone in a day.

A proper scout uniform is topped off with a campaign hat. You will be an excellent example to the new boy scouts. Mike will do you well Bjorn, his creations are wonderful.
