Had to stop in and say hello. This cooler weather is reminding me that hat wearing season (at least for me) will soon be upon me. Looking forward to the hat part, even if not the weather part.

Have you ever seen one of these? A "Supernatural Tulcan Panama" by the Equadorian Panama Hat Co. of New York. I believe this to be from the 1930s, but am not certain.

Late post today. The fog (actually smog, as there is a good bit of smoke from inland wildfires mixed in) arrived with it's cooling influence so I have spent the day under this Hückel Weilheim and loving every second of it!

We have been talking about moving closer to the east coast, which means closer to Ecuador. Since MrsFed's Father passed away, there is more of an urgency to the desire to be closer. This may mean Texas, Florida, North Carolina... I even looked at Arkansas, where my baby brother lives, but a few things turned me off... I am finding that, like most cities, the area is more important than the state itself. I look into one city and the crime rate, etc, are not attractive, but 30 miles down the road and it's like a different planet.

But after days like the last 2 here with temps near or at 100F, I have my doubts about surviving the heat and any kind of elevated humidity. All I did was run a few errands and vacuum all the sand out of MrsFed's car (left over from the beach trip last week), and I was done for!

Cut-off blue jeans, Vans Skater slip-ons, a light cotton shirt and the Wormser Milan and I was still sweating up a flash flood!

Such a nice collection of lids this Sunday A.M. It was cool this morning so I broke out another of my Stagecoach conversions. This poor hat has been through the roughs going through 3 or 4 separate conversions. This will be the last conversion. Got it where I want it....

On another note. My Mom's been a real trooper over the last week having to suffer through two surgeries. One surgery to put a pacemaker in her heart and the second for a broken hip that she suffered from a fall last Tuesday. Through it all she never lost her sense of humor, except that she was pi$$ed when they took her teeth out before surgery...Good news is, she's doing very well.

Good to hear about your Mom, Terry. My mother keeps telling me you have to be tough to be old.
You are correct... that hat could not be more perfect than it is now. Done!! SUPER lid!
