Yes, that is a bright hat. I made it one day when I was wondering how hard it was to sew slippery, shiny fabric. Turned out to not be too much of an ordeal.

Good day for a black hat. Love the Portis. That overcoat is interesting.

Yes, good day for a black hat and good day for the Portis. It clings to my head very well even though it weighs in at only 4 ounces (113 g). It does not like to be photographed. The overcoat is a Brooks Brothers herringbone I picked up a couple of weeks ago. It's a very nice coat. The black jacket is Brooks Brothers as well, 100% Cashmere and I just found it yesterday.
