alanfgag impressed me with a black vintage Western piece he sported with a pencil curled brim. One similar to it was a must have! :) I found my own. Resistol 3X with pencil curl to at least 'imitate' (for I'll never duplicate) his presentation!

Whoa. Is that a Stetson?

Black is back.

Black is the new black.

A 1925 Kleinhans advertisement for Stetson hats referencing the Aristocrat - this is at least a decade earlier than the hat I wore today. The name might have been created and stamped for Kleinhans. They were a large account at that time.

Zbysko. Now there's an old timey wrasslin' name!

While I sported the M&K Custom, my grandson rocked his Nottingham. I had been saving this lid since he was a kid, (infant, actually) but I waited too long, and he's outgrown it!! He still looks terrific and even in the mean streets of NYC, he got smiles and reactions from the normally jaded populous of the UWS.

Check out the size tag!
Edit: He's just turned two years of age. I bought another hat, too when I bought the Nottingham... a 6-5/8 Tyrolean style. I'd best hurry.

YAY!
I totally love that!
We need to find him a little bigger one now.

Like the pattern on that cap. And the sweater and the pants, et al.
Thanks Red. At one time the cap maker, Opplandske, was the European affiliate of Stetson. I don't know if they made felt hats there, but I think they were in charge of marketing them in northern Europe.

Nice outfit.
Thanks RJR.

it looks a little bit cold, Michael, but your style is great
Thanks Mike. After a week of 70s the return to the far more normal windy 20 degrees was a hard gear shift. Fortunately I've got clothes for all seasons. Ha ha.

New guy here, long time lurker. Wearing my modified modern Stetson wool "Whippet," my knockaround hat. Wanted to demo it for an inquiry here in the Lounge. Prefer vintage, and its got very little in common with an original Whippet, besides its name, but once its been trimmed and re-bashed, this cheapie is a pretty nice hat, and one I can wear without a care. -Dave

I do love that Everyman. Always enjoy seeing it. I'm only venturing out for a short errand, probably will go with the Sage Strat.
I got caught in the rain on a morning break walk about 11 a.m. Hat got a good workout. It's all dried out now and looks as perfect as it did before I left the house this morning.

I also got a great compliment from a gent at McD's while we were waiting for our orders. That got us talking about John Penman's shop and his Everyman, and custom hats. Very nice chat.
