Today in front of the amazing hexagonal brick chimney (60 meters high) that has survived the passage of time at the now Technical University (since 1906) and previously textile factory. I live a block away and just love it.

just received my Penman everyman fedora today! got stung by the British import duty (ouch!) what a great hat. at first i thought John had sent me the wrong size as im normally a 57,this is a 58, but fits so so well. the sweatband is SO nice,cant wait to wear it in.

Looks great! I love mine, too! John told me the sizing ran small. I would normally take a 59 or 60 and mine is a 61. I was able to go pick mine up in person at John's shop. This felt is different from the Indy Everyman, and John did some serious work getting mine creased to resemble his Casablanca hat with a perfect diamond crease. This hat has become my everyday grab-and-go hat!

Thanks Cristina, it's one of my favorite looks as well. The chimney makes a wonderful backdrop for you hat picture today. And a lovely hat it is. I'm afraid my backgrounds leave a bit to be desired. Ha ha.

My guess would 1970s but it could be later or a bit earlier. Does it say SELCO on the sweatband or the liner (it's faded so I can't see anything).
