Thanks Harv.

Give me your address. I'll bring you this one: View attachment 63308

It's one of my favourites, but for you I will let it go.

Thank you very much Daniele. It's a bit larger than a fascinator but a bit smaller than a propper hat, so I'd say it's a cocktail hat. It's American, from the late 1950s.

Today almost became a miserable boring hat day, but then this black borsalino homburg happened:

It was made for the German market, perhaps the little brother of the one @mayserwegener wore the other day? Here are a couple of quick pictures, if I have time later I will take some better ones for the borsalino thread...

Everybody's looking good again today :)
Wow Celia! What a super hat. And your boldness in wearing such a beauty is commendable! I'm impressed with your style!

Thanks everyone for the comments and likes on yesterday's Tumwater. Tony makes some great hats and he is a master of bows.

Here's another this morning, Silverbelly Tumwater.

Cheers!

Love this one David! That bow is super cool, just enough color contrast with that silverbelly to set it off! I'd like a detail shot of that bow treatment to put in my "Must Steal" folder.

You might try
one of Sterkowski's custom caps.I like mine.
That hat I really like. I also have a weakness for tweeds.

I'm gearing up for trying caps. You, Eric, and Harv (along with more than a coupla others) really kill 'em.

I think before I make the leap I need to go somewhere to try on a few to get an idea of what looks ok on me.

Steve, just WOW... and very intriguing those long stitches on the top edge of the ribbon, were those supposed to stay or to be removed as one opens a pocket on a blazer that is sewn shut?
Cristina, Thank you! I have been told the stitches are supposed to be removed at point of sale. They are to help protect the ribbon / bow during stacking but in some cases they can do more harm than good.

Thank you all the information on the Printed Felt! It has a superb look. I think it might be Tonak because they have this capability. Also great to see the block you used to make the Cloche. It'a a super form!

It was interesting to see that stitching on another hat. My Mallory back bow still has those basting stitches, it appears to be NOS. Cool!

Not to betray the tradition, the proportions are typical of an EU cap of 45 years ago
The hat was an old not sold stock of a Sicilian shop with, still inside, the warehouse label

OMG Matt, you just gave me one of those "great hat strokes" that Michael had. You are promoting an epidemic on the lounge. I'm drooling...not on that hat of course. Is that a 3" brim, it looks super wide? This one made my day!
Thanks guys. T'was a lucky "stumbled upon".

Yeah... 3 inch Cavanagh (HATCO's Guild) edge.

Beautiful hat.

And great pics.
The different backgrounds and lighting you choose almost invariably make your photos a visual treat.
Plus... you almost always look so damned happy.
Makes me smile, brother.

Enjoy.
