One of my favorite hats to wear. The Fray sweat is very soft and touches the entire perimeter of my forehead. I wonder if the original owner a century ago (the word "Fling" is written in ink on the sweat - perhaps his name?) loved it as much.

Today (Sep 27), another new hat debuted - a blue bowler.

I had real trouble finding a blue bowler I liked. All I could find were royal blue bowlers; I wanted navy blue, or better yet, a shade brighter than that. I found that shade brighter on eBay. The crown is a little too belled for my taste (I prefer bowlers where the crown rises ramrod-straight-up), but given that a decent blue bowler was so hard to find, I'll live with it.



I had trouble finding a light gray bowler too (dark gray is far more common), but I was able to find one at Gentleman's Emporium. I'll post pictures of that one when it makes its debut.
