Good evening. Last evening I went to see Hot Tuna in concert at the Cedar Cultural Center, MPLS, MN. Jorma Kaukenen(Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of Jefferson Airplane fame) and Jack Casady (same as Jorma) were spectacular. The covered recent songs and the ones that I came to see/hear (the old blues/jazz songs most refer to as country blues). Their expertise, passion and playing together for 40+ years showed. No pics allowed for this acoustic concert, so I can not share any pics. (It did happen.) They were on! I went to the concert wearing my Gannon (silver belly and charcoal ribbon). At a gathering after the concert Jorma commented that he liked my hat. Nice guy and was indeed being pleasant and cordial, but I appreciated his comments nonetheless.

This afternoon I donned my vtg. Stetson (medalist) for yard pick-up. This unique ribbon hat has 3 rows of double stitches and a plain (cut brim). The 2.25" brim works with this lightweight brown, high straight blocked crown fedora. The cloudy, humid weather has given the pics an odd color hue. It really is a rich acorn brown. Great hat for warmer weather. It does not get enough head time at my house.

My stepdad is a big fan of Jorma. A few years back he played the Mendocino Music Festival, stepdad had tickets within a few minutes of them going on sale. He enjoyed the show very much.

Moehawk; Give your stepdad a thumbs-up from me. I have attended his old guys guitar camp (Fur Peace Guitar Camp) a couple of times and loved the interaction and learning from consummate pros. In a more private setting Jorma is truly a good guy.

Another lovely day here.. No idea what this Park Plaza hat is made out of. Today's score.

Anyone have any hints on the material and construction names?

I love this hat. Seems to be an excellent Milan braided straw from here (but I'm very far away!)
