We went to another vintage event today, it's was a swingtime dance that was held in a large community hall, behind a station, that's on a preserved heritage railway line. At one point in the afternoon, fifty or more of us gathered on one of the station platforms, dressed in 1930's/40's vintage wear. Tourists riding the trains were amazed and nonplussed as to what was going on. And then we were gone, back in the dance hall.
By the end of the night my troublesome hip was giving me serious grief, but a long soak in a hot tub has worked wonders, as always. When we left for the gig I was wearing a stingy brim straw. Tina said that I should put on the hat that Esther made, so despite the heat I did. She was right, as ever, it got so many compliments. I did take the straw in case I got too hot, but it wasn't needed.

I've had this Stetson OR for around a year now. It's too small for me (7). I had every intention of re-sizing it. However, with every hat I "wanted" to re-size, once I got them in my hands I realized how nice they were, I didn't want to turn them into something else.

This one probably sat in the box for most of its life. It's MINT. It not only has the original price tag on the cardboard size tag, but it also has the price sticker from the original store where it was sold, St. Clair's Men's Store in Owatonna, MN. It's still in operation today! It's an easy re-size to 7 1/4; I'm on the fence with it. Size it or sell it?

With all transparency [senator], I've taken a few photos and positioned the hat to "look" like it fits.

Stetson OR. I ended up re-sizing it for myself, per my previous post. The hat is in near flawless condition, it's just gorgeous. To maintain the unique character of the hat, I kept the thin ribbon and I used a blank sweatband (no FPH logo) close to the original color. I also re-used the original paper size / price tag and bow. What do you think??
