It's beautiful! Of all my hobbies, and there are many, bonsai is the one I am most spectacularly a failure at!!!I buy the tree's as Pre-Bonsai and develop them from there...I have 30 or so in one stage or another of growth and style, I show several of them once a year at a local Bonsai Exhibition, it requires a lot of attention and work ...
This is a 9 Japanese Maple in a Grove with 3 Monk's relaxing, drinking and smoking their pipes, it is known in Bonsai circles as a "Penjing"...

I hear ya. My wife won't even let me walk down the Bonsai aisle at our local nursery. I've killed so many she thinks they'll know and die out of fear.
