I've had this a couple of weeks, first time out of the house. This is my third one, and the best of the three. Nice, soft, pliable, dense and well-pounced felt.

I smile every time you post that hat. Looks like Camelias blooming behind you, the AL state flower. Silly factoid in my head: The the indigenous Camelias have single petal blossoms but the one adopted as the state flower here, are Japanese multi-petals, which are displayed behind you, I think. Beautiful hat and flowers.

Thanks Greg. I didn't know that Camelia were Alabama's state flower. My father should know though, he is an Alabama native and his folks lived their entire lives there. I'll have to pick his brain to see if he does.

We are lucky to have about 20 or so old, very large and beautiful ones (all Japanese) throughout the yard... some red, some white and some with variegated red and white flowers. I love that they bloom several times each year in southeastern Virginia and the rich almost Magnolia-like green of the evergreen folliage.

The photo is a bit off topic, but I DID take this shot immediately before the hat shot posted earlier.

Early evening and back from the MN State Gymnastics Championships. I wore a Gannon charcoal felt fedora to and from the meet site. The snap brim fedora was perfect in the snowy morning weather.
