Renault, now that's a hat with character!
Charlie, another fine straw, sir.
S4C, love those Caxtons - what's the brim width on that clone?
Dave, another +1 on the conversion. Brim looks good.
And Esther - terrific post, terrific hats! You're fitting right in here, and it's great to get your perspective on things. You obviously share our enthusiasm!

Another cool morning today in Ohio, where I've made the trip from Dayton to our Columbus campus to work and hold very important meetings today. Temps in the 70s today, and my D'Aquino MkII on hovering over my pate.

STUPENDOUS lids all around!

Renault you always look READY, and your hat is EVERREADY!! I would talk to you in the store.

Perry it's ALL good today... Black & White delight, and a BBW (Big, Broad Wibbon)... Great look!!

S4C your Caxton always looks solid, conservative, and outstanding for Dragoncon!

Knotten the CD just exudes power and class! Looks GREAT, too.

Fruno that is SUCH a beautiful, ballzy lid! The contrasting colors ROCK!

Java you hit the nail on the head in that conversion. WOWza!

Greg is there no end to the creative variety of your caps?! Amazing!

Charlie, I doubt either of my Caxtons will get anywhere NEAR DragonCon, because I don't want to risk any damage to them or any of my other nice hats. I'm happy to take the chance with the Stacy Adams pork pie with my costume since it's an inexpensive wool body. The only *nice* hat I've risked is my silk plush topper, but that was for a special event and the hat was either worn or guarded jealously the entire time.

I ain't a-gonna wear a good hat into a crowd of several thousand people at a con unless I have a really good way of protecting it. :)

Esther, thank you so much for sharing the information, and the beautiful Panama. It's a shame Kopka doesn't have more colors available in the tissue felt. And, if it is Czech rabbit, there are a couple of places here in the U.S. that have some of that for I imagine a much smaller shipping cost.
As long as we're sharing, there is a company here in the States called Winchester Hat Corp. that makes felt hat bodies in rabbit or 100% beaver in a 3 1/4" brim, or western size (4-5" brims) in rabbit, beaver, or a 50/50% blend. Lots of colors, even some girly ones.:) If you want to try something different than Czech or Polish, call Greg at Winchester 931-967-0686. He is in Tennessee, which is GMT -06:00 I believe. His felt is really nice, but I' m not sure about international shipping.
Anyhoo, TY again for the info!

You are most welcome, Moe!
Oh yes, it's a shame because i do like working with them a lot!
I think one could try dyeing the light one I suppose, but i never tried.
Def. get it in the USA, I imagine shipping cost would be steep and they are sort of weird when it comes tax/vat.

Oh! 50/50, i never tried those, i will check that out.
Thank you for the info!
Does he have an email?
I have some American friends coming over here in Antwerp, maybe that's easier than shipping?

Oh yeah, my hat o' the day.
Nice and sunny, perfect for a wee Milan of undetermined age or maker.

As far as I know, Greg at Winchester does not have an email. I order over the telephone. Shipping is via UPS, that's pretty easy, but maybe pricy for overseas.
