6" or so... the brim is 3" before rolling which helps to accentuate the height. This Boss Raw Edge is about 100 years old and shows no evidence of having worn a crease in its earlier life. I hate to start teaching it bad habits now.

I'm pretty sure that this hat came in sporting this flat flange... but it is a few hats back and my memory is fuzzy.
