Great seeing the hats from yesterday and early this morning.

I'm getting going with a Stetson 25 for TAR Tuesday

Some great hats these last few days. And guys I really need help with the art of the selfie. MoK you have got it down pat - what is the secret. Mine are hopeless.

Anyway lovely spring day here, but still a chill in the air so perfect light felt weather. VS featherweight in silvermist.

Rule One for selfies, Ted: Keep the camera as high as you are able. Helps to minimize lens distortion, and greatly reduces the number of chins (on me, at least). Famed Boston photographer Mr. Bachrach also has his subjects lean forward about ten degrees for that purpose. But these rules are secret....

ebony, those are some great shots!
Daniele, that fedora looks good on you, man.
David, that Stetson 25 is super nice.
Andy, you have some of the best looking caps. I like the dimensions of that guy!
Charlie, i LOVE that light sage, buddy!
Ted, sharp VS! I'd say the selfie looks good.

Danielle - the crushable looks good. I imagine that weight is good for the summer. Great colour in those outside shots.

David - nice Tar Tuesday

Charlie - great colour felt

Andy - big, blue and beautiful!

Greg - Nice VS I like the silvermist. Charlie has out lined the basics, and obviously I'm getting it completely wrong, and look much better in real life ;) If you're using a compact camera then lens distortions tend to be more of a problem than with a DSLR. In general the wider the lens is the more distortion you'll get, but with the cheap zoom units you get on most compacts there tends to be a sweet spot around the 2-3x magnification point for shots within 2 or 3 feet (have a play it varies from model to model). Hold the lens at eye-level or a bit above. If you're wanting a full-length portrait I find you need to be 5-10 yards away, with the camera at roughly mid chest-height to minimize distorted proportions. Take a few and edit copiously :) I had a chin once upon a time ;)

Harv - I like that Roxford. not a brand I'm familiar with.

Joao - you snuck in with another black beauty just as I was posting. Looks great.

Yes MoK I'm testing it under the Italian sun in these days of more than 20 C degrees. Barbisio responds well to unseasonably warm for the season, but I'm planning a visit to Melegari in Milan to see and eventually buy some straw hats.
