Mystic - Your beater is my Sunday best. Great hat, regardless of category.

Tjones - Nice conversion. Looks great on you, though I must say, the wider brims look good on you as well.

casechopper - That's a beauty. I LOVE that color and the bow treatment. Nice.

RJR, hatguy, hatophile, Richard, Miamibruno, Thanks guys for the comments on my Raiders conversion. I'm in the process of discussing with John Galt to do a Tom Hardy fedora from scratch for me. John G.'s coming along very nicely and is doing a great job with conversions.

Mystic, if that Penny's Marathon is your rain / beater hat I would love to see what your best hat looks like.
Alan, very nice Borso. I love that color.

Thanks for the comments guys. My Marathon beater looks better in the photo than in person. Doesn't fit well enough to send out for a professional clean and block.

It's another great day of hats.

OCMH, Teach...Terrific Strats

7XCB..Top Shelf again, Dave

Manfred, That's a riveting photo.

Black open crown, Perry, you really pulled that off with flying colors.

Bruno, Sharpe as a tact! I recently saw a wool Penny's young mens Merrimac on ebay.

jhe, very stylish

Joao, you own that look...

Case, That's a real beauty

TJ, very authentic. good look for you.

Hatguy....it has been a very long winter!!

Alan, Beautiful warm colors. The photo catches the quality well

Richard, you make it work with style.....

You do the Fed well, Monk

Good Job, guys......

Steve WINS today (IMHO)! And against stiff competition from all contestants!

MIAMIBrUNO, the Merrimac possibly came from our neighborhood. This from the Amesbury (Massachusetts) Hat Museum website...

"Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Salisbury Point Railroad Historical Society Display, "The Hattery" consists of a sampling of high fashion ladies' hats, men's hats, novelties and memorabilia produced by the Merrimac Hat Corporation. The Merrimac Hat Factory rose from humble beginnings in 1856 to become the largest maker of hats and hat bodies in the U.S. in 1946. For over 100 years the Merrimac Hat Corporation was a vital part of Amesbury's economy. Follow the story of this great American Industry through pictures and explore the reasons that the Merrimac Hat Corporation finally closed its doors in 1971.
