Richard, Joao, Harv, Thanks guys. I appreciate your comments on my Western.

Richard, I would never have guessed your Bowler has a 6 inch crown if you hadn't mentioned it. The Resistol / Indy type conversion I'm wearing in my avatar pic has a 5 inch creased crown and it looks taller than your bowler. It definitely looks good on you buddy.

Breiter Munich Backbow, probably pre 1950s.

Today i'm wearing my Dobbs Maxima (Tonak) Conversion Silver Velour

Since the original thread, I have trimmed the brim to 2 1/8 and used a 1930's high rear flange.

I love this hat, I just wish I would have used a new quality sweatband instead of putting the original one back in. That's ok, this was my first Velour conversion. I have done a couple since. The velour quality is excellent for a modern hat body.

Nice European representation today David, Miamibruno, Richard, Steve, and Josh. The domestics look great too.

I'm channeling the Burly Russian again, Simmonds medium wool.

Good one Mike. I feel like I'm in Russia today with all the freak snowstorm dumping on us down here. Very un-Bama-like weather we're getting today.
Great hats today guys. Hope you're all staying warm.

That's a beauty, Alan! They must have forgotten that one, when they planned the "Hat of The Month" ads back in 1929/30. Hmmm ... they probably couldn't find a classy enough sweatshirt at the time, I guess. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks all. The scary look was probably because the windchill was -25. The hat stayed on with the new ostrich leather sweatband from Black Sheep! It grips real good!

Beautiful Crofut there Alan, those old long hairs really are something else.
