A particularly great batch of hats today.

David: nice Whippet. I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of the Whippet myself because the non-matching binding that usually appears throws me off. But this one I really like. Is it more grey or more bluish?
Andy: Handsome playboy for a dapper outfit. The beard suits you as well!
Perry: nice Dobbs, looks like a Cavanagh edge as well?
Eric: sharp VS as usual.

Alan: That's a great Disney, and not one I think I've seen from you before.

Thanks, Jared - I think the colour of this Whippet work well together. The felt is a pretty neutral grey, not really any blue in it.

Nice Dobbs - when TonyB made my blue Tumwater it was somewhat based on a blue Dobbs that Delectans (who's posts I'm missing!) owns. Yours has a similar profile which looks great.

Perry and HatsRme; Go for it! The annual sales are so very tempting. I am guilty of having new Pendleton's delivered to work, the gym. A few days later I slip them into my returning clothes duffle when I come home. I can not imagine I do anything but sooth my guilty at spending more on Pendletons. I am confident that my wife just smiles behind my back. The benefit is that she does like them when I wear them. The end result, is all is well.

Thanks for the comments about my own Dobbs fellows. Looks like it's going to be cooler the next few days but straw hat weather will be back early next week. We still haven't even had any frost yet.

And some Native American Jewelry. The eagle belt buckle is from the 1960s, perhaps earlier. It must have been a bespoke piece, as it is not hallmarked in any way. The turquoise and coral inlay work is superb, as is the silver overlay. They truly do not make pieces like this any longer. The cuff is a storyteller piece with pueblos, dancing katsinas, and a fire. The turquoise and coral ring was also old pawn - probably from the 40s or 50s - also bespoke, without hallmark. The choker is a new piece - stabilized turquoise, lapis and coral.

I won't bore you all with another picture but wearing my Cane Custom and a leather jacket. Temps dropped 40 degrees from yesterday and it is a cold, driving rain this morning.

The Anasazi is a spectacular hat Andy. The perfect complement to your jewelry, of which you have an astounding collection. I only have a very few pieces, but one of the nicest in our house is a squash blossom necklace I purchased for my wife. The dealer explained to me that hallmarking was very rarely done prior to the early 70s, and then due to an explosion of interest in the stuff and the flooding of the market with other-than Native American made products. Also he explained the crushed stone in matrix wasn't around much before the 60s, so your dating is pretty spot on.
