Perry, it seems the older I get, when I try to grow facial hair I just see more and more gray. Whatever used to be blonde is now gray, so I try not to let it get too long. I guess I've just been lazy about shaving lately. LOL.

Allan, there that straw hat is again. Man that is sharp. Very sharp and classy. Casual, with a light blazer/coat, it would look great. We all need one!

Below is a pic shortly ago, before me packing and heading back to the gym for the afternoon and evening. Shoes up and siping coffee. Being short, a high arm chair is much like a loveseat. It allows me to really stretch out. Ahhh, relaxing. I am heading out with my VS Wanderer.

The flange is super high in the back. I bought the flange from ebay about a year ago and I like it a lot. Its marked "Swing" on the side and seems to be the exact same flange profile as the Knox "Backswing" from the late 30's. I just recently saw a Stetson sell on ebay with the same high rear flange and flat front. It was labeled "The Scoop." Its an ideal flange for me to make 30's style hats because I love hats that have flat front snap brims but have higher rear flanges.

After the brim trim and edge sanding, the brim currently sits at 2 1/4 inches wide.

Alan, that Parabuntal is just awesome. The more I see it, the more I want one just like it. I actually think that a felt hat with an optimo crown and brim curl would look really good too!

I just looked through my entire photobucket account, for some reason I can't find any pictures of the particular flange. I have a few. I wont be home tonight, but I will take pictures of it tomorrow and post them.

Really nice posts today fellas, you all inspire. Richard, you are the rare natural in a bowler.

Well on the way into the 90's this afternoon, found some relief opening the box from my latest catch out of the Bay and some late summer shade in the backyard. Equadorian Supernatural milan with optimo crown, will need some TLC but I'm stoked about it.
