Thanks ManofKent and Manfred (The Squatter is actually one of the lightest Akubras I've handled. It's unlined and is made from the superfine felt which is a bit lighter than the imperial in my experience).

Thanks, G. Italy is great, really. The weather, the people are great. You have so much to see, old architecture, Mountains, Lakes. The Italians are very friendly folk and it's a pleasure to be here! Thanks that you asked!

Italy is a wonderful country. Has everything, doesn't it? Ancient architecture, food, wine, warm weather, friendly people... heck, the women aren't too bad either (maybe I just noticed the latter more because of my single status).

Refreshing cool today. This is the first western hat that I acquired... also the first Stetson. I still love it. When I go back and look at the 4 photos I took of it for the Lounge, they are saved as "Stetson1.jpg" etc. Who knew?

A purchase from former member Zetwal.

What has become my favorite hat. My Cane's custom is brown beaver fur with a serpent playboy esque bow. I love the look and Cane has quickly become a good pal so it holds even more meaning.

Alan – that pocket Borsalino is wonderful. Probably the nicest travel hat I’ve seen.
VTPorkpie – the panama looks good on you.
Eric – looks like you’ve done a great job of cleaning that up. Looks good.
g.d. - A nice pair of Dobbs. Looking natural for the camera isn’t easy – I tend to look mean and moody or a grinning fool
David – that’s a fine looking semi-calado – hopefully keeping you cool.
Andy – Looks good – Does the fedora come bashed or is it open-crown?
Sam – thanks for the info on the Squatter. The CRM looks great.
GTDean – Lovely custom
Alan – I like that Stetson – the thin band really emphasises the height. It’s a ‘Western’ I could just about wear in the UK without feeling too self-conscious.
HistoryTeach – I like the casual smartness that custom has – it’s great fun.
Wine65 - beautiful weave.

Beautiful hats, gentlemen!
g.durand - The brown Dobbs in the top pic is just mouthwatering!
alanfang - Majestic! That Stetson seems blocked and creased for your head.
Beautiful semi-caldos too - and I probably forgot some :)

Late afternoon relaxation in semi-shade. A Hopkins cuenca bought at Stieglitz, Conneticut somewhere in the 50's. Bought by me a couple of years ago on the Bay.

This hat is kind of 'the organic corner of the garden'. It gets brushed frequently - and surface cleaned once a year. Once in a while I steam it lightly to keep the crease in suitable shape, but I won't clean and block it. I really love the patina of this hat :)

This summer will be the absolute last with the original sweat. It's beautifully gold impressed and punched for ventilation, but the forehead area withers away. When that is replaced, it should have at least a handful of seasons left.

Kent thank you for the compliment. When I commissioned the hat I told him I wanted something casual that wouldn't look out of place with jeans or slacks and he nailed it! I love the stingy you are wearing today as well

Banjo Paterson.

I have two Akubras, this Banjo Paterson and a Cattleman. How do you think a Federation IV would work with my features and build (5'11" 200lbs)?

Randall - I think you'd look just fine in a Fed. You are taller than I am, but our builds are around the same. Below are a couple photos of me in my Feds. I know we don't look like each other, but I think if I can pull it off, you definitely can.

This is a photo of me in a Fed IV Deluxe in Heritage Fawn

Great! Your photos are about the same angle, so maybe I can "try it on" in PhotoShop.

Voila!

I had some maintenance done on my VW today. My shop has a red '97 Porsche 993 for sale; it belongs to my mechanic. He always has new cars that he enhances with mods and then sells.
