Nice straw hat, kolchak.

Straw for me as well this evening. Hopkins of Baltimore and enjoying a Shipyard Summer Ale while grilling. Heading out for July 4 fireworks after.

AnA - spectacular Stetson. That's the one from Robert, right? So far I've resisted his sales, but there are some great hats there.

Thanks, David! Yes, it arrived yesterday. I always enjoy seeing his collection, so when he started listing hats, I knew I had to jump on one before someone else did! It arrived floppy and tired. The crown looked crooked, because it wouldn't hold a pinch very well. Needed to wake it up with a copious amount of steam. Some additional brushing did the trick.

It's my first vintage Stetson, so I'm really excited about it, and it wears very well. I needed a wide brimmed hat for a more "swoopy" appearance. The lightweight felt will make a difference in the Atlanta heat; although, it's been relatively mild. Can't wait to see some more listings! :)

AnA - Stetson looks great
Che - Nice hats, nice photos
Justin - You've had quite a haul of late
Joel & David - Nice straws

Continuing David's beer theme, the 'for Kendall Milne' outside my local brewery. I think I ought to get free beer for the advertising:

Look'n sharp as usual guys! I sported some red, white, and blue for a 4th party on the waterfront and a Borsy Panama. The sun is supposed to shine.

Such wonderful and festive hats yesterday.

An'A, great purchase with the Stetson-- it will really have a new life! I'll have to try these suggested black combos this week.

G-- another for the winner's circle! I have to agree on the museum remark-- maybe you could get that photo painted!

Justin, super Alessandria. Congratulations-- it looks great on!

David, you look like you're having a wonderful time-- great hats and good beer--- no better combination!

MoK, always enjoy this one!

JauntyOne-- cool Tonak, it lives up to your name!

kolchak, I'm not sure I've seen any other Baron Hats hats around here other than mine. How do you like your straw? It looks nice. Clearly the photo wasn't taken in Berlin, though, since 323 is most definitely an L.A. area code!

Mike, nice ensemble, nice patriotic color scheme. Cool shirt too! It reminded me of the Grateful Dead, but appears to lack the teddy bears.

Perry, what a cheerful way to start a rainy day. Very nice Shudde Bros.

Earlier in the week I spent hours trying to reshape this hat back to its original crease, with a perfect front to back arch and straight, even sides, very soft front dents. I'm not sure if I've just worked out all the shellac over time, but it was a painstaking and careful process. I'm satisfied with the result, but wonder if a little stiffener would let me treat this a little less gingerly for next time. Oh by the way, I also fixed the ribbon knot so that the wider part is in front again. Last year, while fooling around, I accidentally sewed it back on backwards.

For those of you in the States experiencing record heat and dry weather, you may want to consider moving to Cleveland for this summer (and only this summer). It continues to rain most evenings or nights, and the temps are below 80 most days. I realize the summer is still young, but I've worn my Panama only once so far. Today it's my Fed IV Deluxe in Moonstone. As I noted in the Akubra Overload thread, the color is a real chameleon. The towel and the spiny oyster on the bolo are extremely close to how my eye sees them, so this is how my camera lens perceives the Moonstone color in this lighting. Love the fedora. Bolo by Tommy Singer.

A belated thank you for your kind comments from a few days ago, Robert, Jeff, Richard and Manfred! :yo:

The new one looks fantastic with that ribbon--though hard to improve the body!

It was meant to be. Could not go wrong with ALL of us in agreement!

+1. A beautiful hat in a gorgeous setting under the marine layer. What part or port of SoCal are you in?

Huntington Harbour. Gotta love that marine layer in the morning! Fantastic lids you have been sporting, as always!

AL - Gorgeous Montecristi - enjoy your trip.

Savoring every moment! You are ever the dapper English Gent!

Al, fantastic hat your Optimo and great photos with style!
