Put the Buckaroo to work today during some weed spraying. Worked like a charm, in that the only part of me that wasn't sunburnt was my head and neck. Mission accomplished...

Got to wear a different sort of hat a few days ago:

A well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS, Alexander! Wide brims do look best on you!

Another blustery day, another Christy's bowler, another dodgy photo...

I had real trouble sourcing a brown bowler. Christy's ceased production of brown fur felt bowlers a few years back, and the wool ones about a year ago. Still on the look out for a nice vintage one, but nothing so far in a UK 7 1/2... Still the rougher finish works well with tweed in the winter.

Mom & Prom: "Anything Goes"!

Spring finally arrived in Minnesota this past weekend, just in the nick of time for Prom and Mother's Day.

Saturday morning at breakfast, reflecting on the non-stop 36 hours that lay ahead. '20s-early '30s Dobbs Heather.

Ryan and Quinn. Both avid fans of TCM and classic '30s Hollywood, in evening attire.

Tailcoat, marcella bowtie and waistcoat are '30s vintage. Quinn's beautiful dress is reminiscent of the bias-cut gowns so iconic of the 1930s.

Group photos in the afternoon with Ryan and Quinn's friends.

Lydia and I then chaperoned a small group of Ryan and Quinn's friends to supper...

...at a quaint restaurant which was originally built in the 1850s as a gristmill.

Back home before Sunset...

...to meet up with my friend Todd and his fabulous 1929 REO Flying Cloud.

Completely original, purchased by Todd's Great-Grandmother in 1929, it is one of two vintage cars we are using for Ryan's film.

Only 43K original miles on the clock!

Motoring over to the Grand March/Promenade and Dance...in style.

Arriving for a busy evening of activities.

Ryan, letting loose.

Lydia and I left the kids to dance the night away. The dance was followed by a well-organized, Casino-themed After-Prom, topped off by the grand finale: a dazzling hypnotist who delighted the kids until 0530 Mothers Day Sunday! I was hypnotized at home working on the several thousand photos I took on the day until picking the kids up in the morning.

Thanks guys for the comments on yesterday's Dualist. I've really enjoyed wearing this hat so far this year.

Lots of super hats yesterday too - Alexander's obviously gets top billing; congratulations on the graduation.

Today has started looking promising so I'm going out with my Disney milan

Straws Still Strong on our Street. All Straws, All week! Here's my Panama Hats Dreck, from last season. Note the white barrier tape inside on the sweatband, (last photo) to keep the toxic (well, allergin-packed) leather away from my sensitive little forehead. As with both my other hats from them, the sweatband will be swapped for a USA legal, non-allergenic one.

AL, great images, really enjoyed them. The kids really clean up well. I'm sure they'll remember that car ride for a long, long time. Your hats are so crisp too. Thanks for sharing.

Ah, this thread moves so fast!

Thank you St. Ignatz, ManofKent, and DJH for the compliments. I am inching ever closer to a rewarding career and a larger hat budget lol.

ManofKent, love the bowler, especially with that coat. Great photo!

G.Durand, the Lee looks like a great summer hat. I've been trying to get my hands on one for a while now, but they do so rarely come in my size.

DJH, I like the big, bold crown on that milan. Plenty of ventilation I imagine.

Tom, the Roadmaster is a looker. I really like that color!

HatsRMe, I like the ribbon on that straw. I really gotta get me a straw. My heavy westerns are not good in the humid East Tennessee summer.

Great pics guys. Visiting my family in Ft Pierce, FL, a drink with my wife and a walk on the dock.

Stetson OR panama.

Perry, don't know how this slipped past me! What an endearing photo! Looks like you guys had a great time.

Al, Wild and Precious, to be sure, with that Dobbs, Stetson, Ryan and friends.
I don't know a thing about classic automobiles, but those photos made me think "want!"

Good morning. Spring 63'F morning and back from a long dog walk. I wore my VS Wanderer in granite this morning without the liner. The light weight felt with no liner makes the hat very comfortable.
