Good morning. I just have completed outdoor yard chores and took a pic at the spring and water feature in the yard. The ice evidences the temp change for today, cold and breezy. Hatted in my VS Executive, like Davids (DJH)new one :eusa_clap.

Enjoy the day folks, Eric -

OK, so I wore this one today. One of my top five.

In the late '30s, Stetson was getting a little fed up with the popularity (and market share in the U.S.) of Borsalino, a wonderful hat maker but among the Axis powers. We hadn't gotten into the fray fully but a lot of writing was on the wall. So, they pulled this little number on the buying public. "Eagle". Red, white & blue bow inside. Ad campaign to practically shame you into buying AMERICAN. Fine with me.

I've got this one and another in grey. They are also "Medalist" grade (hooey), and "Vita-Felt Process" embossed.

Check out "The Natural" with Redford and you'll see one just like it in action. Funny that the initials on the sweatband are "R R ". Life imitating art in sort of a time travel situation? Yeah, that's got to be it.

A plethora of magnificent hats today, gents. Rusty, Alex, David, Sam, Alan, Gene, Mystic, and Robert to name but a few.

But I'd like to take just a second, and say, Gene is good to see you back on the Lounge. We all hate to see old friends and familiar faces fade away.

Gene, The Natural is one of my favorite movies. I just watched it again the other day, and the hat his father wears in the beginning of the movie is such a classic!! I can't believe you have one!!! :hail:

I've actually been thinking about that hat quite a bit. Wanted to commission a hat just like it. Thanks for showing it! The sweatband ribbon is TDF~!!!

Showing appreciation to some of our corporate donors by giving them a lunchtime concert today. I wanted to wear my FP Black Cherry, but went with my Dennis Brooks black beaver (raw edge!) instead. It is most definitely a black hat, despite the grayish tone in the photo.
