I've looked at some of those, although couldn't find all of the threads easily. My hat is in worse condition than yours. There's a hole in the sweatband, meaning the owner(s) really wore the heck out of it. No Fray stamp, but my Stetson logo is like yours. Hatman replaced the white ribbon with a new one when he re-shaped it; there was no size sticker. Mine has an even thinner ribbon than yours though (eat your heart out RBH), looks like 1/4 inch. Any numbers are too faded to read; handwritten in ink large numbers on outside of sweatband. That's why I wanted to know your estimate of your hat, so by parallel manufacture I know roughly when it's from.

Thanks for the comments on my FP black cherry!

David-- I am loving the return to Tumwater Tuesday! Allow me to reiterate my compliments on your fine new lid!
Rodkins-- The Artlite is a masterpiece. Fits you really well! looks high quality and rugged to boot.
HT-- You've got me really considering this bluegrass CD now... Drat, if only I hadn't just needed to replace all my tires this morning!
Javier-- awesome stingy, awesome mug shot!
monk-- a classic beauty!
Eric-- I love this wide brim! You definitely display your attitude, and as for the Dove-- never tire of seeing it. You are correct, I think we all have go-to hats. Mine seems to be the Falcon Park Black Cherry. Casual, formal, goes with just about anything.
Manfred-- the Wegener is a beauty, and has an absolutely perfect profile. What was the brim before you trimmed it?
Alan-- I don't recall this Disney, but I don't believe it will be forgotten anymore. That is a truly fine specimen. Nice storage area, too! Your 1920s Stetson is another jaw-dropper.
Perry-- the Knox is really fantastic, man. I love the colors.

A bit of coffee and pumpkin bread while waiting for the new tires, with my Brill's fifteen backbow and half-pencil roll. I think that's the name of an olympic dive, isn't it? ;)

Everyone once again has been posting some gorgeous hats the past few days, definitely a little jealous of a couple! Since I haven't been too active (and slacking a little) with wearing and posting what I have been wearing, I figured I throw something a little different in.

I wore this "hat" yesterday (on the left), it has a 1.75" brim on the sides and front with 3.5" in the back and a 6" open crown. Some have a downward taper or an upward taper such as mine. These are very "protective" from the elements. Tomorrow I will have a normal hat post, I promise.

That is one fine hat and the ribbon is superb. I will be ordering one as soon as I can decide on the style. I am down to the Passport or Boardwalk.

You bought some character with that hat.

And here I thought you couldn't buy personality. Awesome, Sam.

Hmmm. I think that looks like at least a "half-gainer."

Believe me I gained a lot more than that after lunch...

I love your light-hearted and punny description. If you wore that tomorrow too I doubt if anyone would be too angry. ;) Nice going!

Fashion Frank, do you always dress that well because the weather is bad?

A side profile to show off the nifty ribbon work on my hand dyed oxblood from Black Sheep Hat Works:

Jared, it's great to see that one out of the shadows! (referring to your avatar) Definitely some cool bow-work.

Can't wait to see what you come up with. Bob Jessee has some amazing work shown on the Black Sheep facebook page as well, if you haven't already seen it.

(I think I would like a Passport, a Blackthorne, a Savannah, a Hooper, a Copperpot, a...)

I have been up and about the past week or so, walking without needing any help, so...the Wife and I have been heading out doing things and hitting the Casino just to do something different. I had to run back in and take this snap shot with my one cell phone cam, does not always get very good pictures....but what do I know? Vintage Strat and Vintage attire to keep me warm while poking at the Casino....yeeeee and weeeeee haaaaw! lol!:eeek:

Firemen all have a sweet spot in my heart and home, my Grandpa on my Mother's side of the family started the Waterford Township Fire Department here in Michigan in the mid 1940's. What a life he had as a Fire Captain and Fire Chief. Retired from the Department, walking on two canes and had still been active on the Engines at the business ends of hoses. Firemen are heroes that should always be remembered. Grandpa would always tell me that "Firemen take care of their own kind"...
