My mother-in-law flew out today after a week's visit :eeek:, hence my rather unusually sparse appearances on the Lounge. (She's baffled by my hat obsession, I assume.)

The heat has kept me from wearing many hats, but I couldn't resist donning one to celebrate today's cloudcover.

Tom and Alan- both beautiful hats. Alan, you have a real knack for finding gems, and Tom, I'm pestering Art to make me his take on a Stetson 100, and that Silvermist might be just right for that.

Thanks for the nods from you all. Brando the Mist is light weight but I'm sure the standard weight is super supple as is my standard Blue Smoke. Art told me that the process used to achieve the lighter colors results is in a softer/thinner feeling felt.

In Chicago for a few days with my wife visiting our daughter who is working at Northwestern for the summer. Had a chance to share an afternoon with Robert and Josh... what a great time! I don't think we took one picture, but we certainly exchanged a thousand words.

We have been very fortunate in getting plenty of rain this summer, unlike most of the rest of North America. The soybeans are at least a foot taller than normal.
