Josh - Love that great old Playboy... the winds must have died down in Chicago!

Josh: I really appreciate your kind comments. This conversion was done well, I believe professionally. Your heather Playboy is the cat's meow. Spectacular, and reminds me of my '30s heather Dobbs.

Really fantastic lid. :eusa_clap

+2! Josh, your style is immediately recognizable-- and it's great!

Josh - love the Playboy. Don't think I've seen one like it before.

Awesome playboy Josh, looks perfect on.

Thank you SO MUCH, Alan, Al, Jimmy, Lefty, Jeff, David, and Shohei for all the wonderful words about my Playboy.

Sorry I'm a little late on my response, I'm trying to catch up today.

Aureliano, you need to smile, i.e. show us your teeth!

The Romanian lady (I'd say she's in her 70s) at the little coffee shop where I buy my breakfast said this to me this morning "You look as handsome as Count Dracula" :D Never seen the man but I took it as a compliment! lol lol (maybe it was that I had my hair down?)

I've been called a lot of things in my life.....but never Dracula. I think that's awesome! I don't think you look like Dracula, but I do love the entire look. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Alan, oh my goodness what a beautiful homburg - I do have a real soft spot for homburgs.

Mayserwegener, those mercury felts just never lose their shape do they? YOu never see a pre-war high crown with taper. Not unless it was tapered to begin with ;)

I'm sure you weren't called Dracula, Alan. Great homburg and nice pairing with the (blue?) overcoat and scarf.

No... but I totally missed that page until your post. The coat is the same as yours - old navy peacoat. Count Alucard, I remember him well. I was a monster movie fanatic as a kid.

Manfred, Ale, Josh, Egghead, Mercuryfelt - thank you for the notes on the Borso.

Wearing this, one of the newest Borsalinos I got in Rome. It's funny, the liner is crap, but the felt and sweat is as nice as any hat I've ever seen. I guess I'll get a new liner soon.

Thanks! Yes this one doesn't fit the FL model for a 1930 hat. Actually most of my old hats don't. :)

Josh, Thanks! Just in case you didn't see the one I just picked up.

I didn't see that one! I've been in and out of the lounge the last couple weeks. I think I've missed some great stuff.

That hat is phenomenal as well! It looks like a German/Austrial Playboy but with much better flanging. I really love the 30's flanging on Austrian/German hats. Many of the American hats that I have owned from that time period usually have fairly "cupped" flanging in back but seems that the front is almost ironed flat. Do find find similar results in German/Austrian hats from this period, or does the "cupping" continue through the entire brim when its snapped up.
