Javier-- that's a great trio of hats there-- it could be a catalog photo for a line of three distinct styles. Your black stingy (how wide is that brim?) of course being the top of the line.

Last night, in a new-ish casino, bootlegging post performance. ;) Me in my Royal grey Stetson, my friend and colleague in his Akubra Federation. This is the guy who really got me going with hats. He has a handful of Akubras, and I don't think he'll wear anything else!

I would not have recognized you, Jeff, had you not identified yourself. A very nice pic, I must say, Elliot Ness would be hot on your trail.

Nice one, Perry. What is the Dobbs model or price designation, if any?

Nothing specific on that one, Al, just plain ole Dobbs 5th Ave. If you note, the brim binding is wider on the underside of the brim. I have another Dobbs with the same. I haven't seen that in any of my other brand hats. According to Lefty, it's called the "bold look".

Just like last year, my family has taken a vacation to Las Vegas. Plenty of hat action over on this side of the country lol.

This is the view from my room in the Mirage Hotel and Casino. To the left, unseen in the picture, is the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino and its fake volcano. Across from us is the Venetian, and to our right is the New York New York, Harrah's, and the bigger hotels.

Within the Las Vegas Fashion Mall, there was not much I was interested in or could even afford, despite the sales going on. Such was sadly the case with this new store, Pinto Ranch Fine Western Wear. A false heaven, for though I wanted practically everything in the store I refused to pay those prices lol.

The store did have a hat section, with hat care supplies, hat travel cases and a decent selection of Stetsons, Resistols and Serratelis. Nearly all of the unfortunate tapered cattleman variety. Even so, I may come back for one of those cases.

A view of the Aria Shopping Center and Metropolitan Condos from a table at Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina. Just to the left of us is the Miracle Mile shopping complex. Far down the street you may barely be able to make out the skylight of the Luxor. I really, really wish I had a better camera.

I only had room to bring one hat, and since most of my clothes are white/grey/black, I felt comfortable bringing the Buckaroo custom. To alleviate some of the hat-buying fever I've come down with as a result of visting the WHAYWT thread in the past couple of days, I decided to give it a different crease. I do love to experiment :D.

More to come, as I've several more days left here. Hopefully I can get some better pics, and maybe some new headgear!

Thanks Randooch, Cicero and Hato. Unfortunately I'm just over a month shy of 21, so a good portion of the Vegas experience is as yet closed to me. Even so, there's still a plethora of activities for me.

And don't worry Hato. The Billy Jack is my favorite look and the hat will return to it soon :D.

If the Fashion Mall is out of your price range, then you might want to try The Hat Company (www.thehatco.com) in the Las Vegas Outlet Center. It's south of the airport on Las Vegas Boulevard. If I recall the shop is fairly small, but it's pretty densely stocked and they stock a wide range of hats at different pricing levels.

As fate would have I have literally just walked out of that very store. It did not leave a good impression. They had some nice caps, but the majority of the hats were costume pieces, leather, plastic or wool. Had I not already brought several newsboy caps for the trip, I defintely would've purchased one or two from the store.
