Mike, you wear brown hats really well! David, that Alessandria looks great!

For me, my super new-to-me Stetson Belmont.

Another fabulous pair of lids from the dawn patrol. David, Mike, fine choices for today.

Gotta love that "Wafer Edge", Ale. Great looking Stetson.

Newly arrived from mattface, Thank you.

The green end of teal.
Very close to this old Borsalino back-bow baby-sized(54.5) hat.

Beautiful old hat, Steve. Can you share a little more about the restoration project at Optimo.

Alan, Thanks! A while back I purchased this hat from MJones (FL poster). The hat had been badly hacked up by an insane (being kind) milliner. MJones sent it to Optimo and they replaced everything but the felt. I think some of the parts could have been salvaged but Optimo tends to go overboard in removing everything. The original size was 58cm so that stayed the same. I am pretty sure this is the only old (pre 1940s) A. Peschel on the FL. Here are some photos of the original parts that MJones sent me.

The liner actually has the German town name (Neutitschein -> Novy Jicin) so this is probably from just after WWI.

Great to see the parts and glad that you were able to retain them. Optimo is not encouraging about re-using original finishings in a renovation. My much later A. Peschel velour is a beautiful felt... I can only imagine the quality in this venerable old example. Thanks for posting.

Looks great, Ale! :eusa_clap

I don't know about you, but I am starting to feel like I need to go on an after Thanksgiving hat diet. ;)

It turned out well after the stretch, Alan. I'm loving it. I have one last hat to buy before the diet, which will fill the last empty spot on my hat shelf... Unreeded gray Borsalino

Trying to find time to clean and crease some recent finds... wearing this one today, a great BIN graciously tipped in my direction by a FL friend. Mallory premier quality Pliafelt, The Dallas. It is darker than it appears here.

Thanks... this hat is medium weight, very soft felt, flexible brim... quite lovely for its early 1950s (guessing) vintage. I hope we have a chance to compare in person down the road. Unlike the early Strat and similar Borso Alessandria style, I like this one with deep side creases and downward snap.

My Canon point and shoot did a terrible job focusing the pictures I took this morning. Here are a couple of iPhone photos that are much more accurate in color.

I generally wear mine brim up (or Hollywood).

Now that I see more pics I can say for sure that, though the general style is the same, yours is a very different hat from mine.
