Your aim is true, Perry. Armory is across the street from the public school our kids attend(ed). Occupy Buffalo is across from City Hall and still there last I looked.

Once in South Dakota I saw a woman try to occupy a buffalo with her motorcycle. She went to the hospital and the buffalo was mildly annoyed.

My new-to-me Borsalino Colombo feather. Great hat, light and thin and not the best choice for today's cold and windy morning.

Do we have some good knowledge base on the Colombo mark? I remember hearing some thoughts on a commemorative connection with the quincentennial anniversary of Christopher Columbus' birth (1951). My one Columbo is a pretty heavy and furry velour.

I owned an AB briefly back in 2008, and truthfully, I like the Henry better. The felt seems just as soft yet holds it shape, and it feels like nothing on my head. I have really grown to love the softness of the felt. I actually have two of them, which is why I have other hats for sale. Love the Henry.

As I read more about other people's Henry's, I have begun to think that mine has had some stiffener added to it because, although it is soft-as-in-smooth, it's not very soft-as-in-pliable. I love it, though. Great color, lines, texture, and fit-and-finish. I scrunched it up a bit so now it's a little bit softer-as-in-pliable, and it's even better than when I got it.

Don't know what color Amiata is. Looks brown, green and dark charcoal at various times. Perhaps they just added all the dye colors into the vat at one time[huh]

I heard something similar but aren't quite positive. This is the first Colombo I've seen that is light weight and has a crown sticker instead of a liner. Most I've seen have been velours except for one that Zetwal showed me once which was regular felt (I think) Robert or Brad might know more. I'm interested!

Hi Jeff,

Do you mean the true hat colors? Grayed khaki with a still shiny copper penny ribbon. They are muted tones and, for some reason, almost impossible for inexpensive digital cameras (and iPhones, as used here) to get right.

That's a great description. So muted tones are the ones I cherish in hats-- the ones that are almost impossible to get right, not just by cameras, but hatters too, at least the mass production ones. Similarly difficult to find.

Probably '40s Borsalino "Angora", spotted by Ryan sitting on a hat stand. He is developing quite the eye for vintage lids.



The price tag landed on my sweater in the excitement of discovering that the long-haired Borsalino actually fits. .

Al at 30.00 dollars you could not go wrong even if it didn't fit you would be able to sell it for more. What a run of luck for you finding so many hats that fit.
