Wow, that Whippet of Aureliano's makes my '40's Whippet look like a distant, impoverished second cousin! And that fabric hat is really interesting...it's great to see cloth items of that vintage. And I have yet to find a cap as nice as that one, Big_e.

It makes me hesitate to post my pics! Today it was pretty chilly so I wore my Sammy Taft custom beaver stingy brim. I was delighted to find this hat. Sammy Taft was a local legend as a hatter...a real Toronto institution.

Thursday Thirties? Thirties Thursday? Is that a thing now? ;) If not already, it should be a loungewide initiative!
Ale, I always get inspiration from your ubercool photos, but this one really takes the cake-- awesome!

I enjoyed the rare experience of watching a gentleman in his late 60s walk come into the coffee shop where I was sitting, wearing a beige topcoat and matching fedora (probably a 2 1/2-3 inch brim I'd guess), beige or natural colored, with a sage green ribbon and felted edge. Didn't seem like he was from these parts, and I have to admit it was rather refreshing.

DNO, that Sammy Taft is really nice. Just how stingy is it?

Now that hat I like, it has a subtle warm look about it.

Man you guys rock the hats.

Ernest, that's a comfy, warm-looking cap. I bet you had a tough time resisting the urge to bust a grin!

Aureliano, Jeff already said it. :eusa_clap

Jeff, "spectral inverse" indeed! That's a great look.

Today I received a featherweight Borso that Robert was kind enough to part with. Fits preternaturally well, like it was waiting all these decades to alight upon my head. Thanks again, Sir Robert!

Last night, we went to meet our new puppy, Rhubarb. Full name heard here, at around the 50 second mark.

She's somewhere in there with her mom.

I'm wearing a black derby with my tux. I've read on here about the Homburg and Fedoras being the proper head gear for a black tie tux. I'm here to say that I really like the derby. It's quality and since I like it, I'll wear it.

I don't think many attending will be wearing a hat in the first place so, that puts me above the rest of the pack anyway. I say Kudos to anyone these days that tries to revive the hat should be commended and not castigated for wearing the wrong one.

I know the history of the derby, but lets face it guys, the people on this site, want to bring back hats in general. I think its cool to do so.

Having said that, baseball caps, straw hats or anything weird should not be worn with formal attire. Don't you guys agree with my philosophy..?

Bundled up for my evening stroll. That's a black Jaxon Bogart that I picked up for a buck at an estate sale...couldn't beat the price! I've been working with some steam and even an iron to redo the brim and alter the crown. They certainly put a lot of stiffener in their hats...but it's starting to soften up. I must admit, I much prefer my vintage hats.

Randall - congratulations on the Borsalino - looks fantastic!

Lefty - congratulations on the new addition to your family! Your images remind me of when we went to see our little baby Boston Pearl for the fist time a couple of years ago.

Michaelshane - very cool look!

David - you may prefer your vintage hats, but that one looks great on you as well.
