Alan; You have gotten lots of positive comments with your posting of wearing this hat. I "quote" it again this morning to say +1 and that the saturated spruce green color of that Imperial Stetson is outstanding. The hat is complimented by your staging the pic against the color of the wall and the enjoyable art.

Soothed by the rich spruce green color, Eric -

Thank you very much Eric, AL and everyone who commented on the Imperial from yesterday. This is one of those special time capsule hats... in virtually the same condition as the day it came home from the store. It gives us a chance to savor that time when it was possible to assemble all the good things (felt, satin, leather, style, craftsmanship) together in a hat in ways that are just not possible today. I'm glad you enjoyed the picture and the family story in the background.

best,
Alan

Brisk Brown Stetson Stratoliner weather!

Brisk temps this morning on my walk with Tio and Tris (our Port.Water Dogs). Down sweater and brown Stetson Strat for me. Dogs, just their curly coats. My wife had them at a dog show last weekend and their curly hair is teased into long thick insulating fur. My instructions this morning is do not let them get into any burrs or any smelly ordors before this coming weekends dog show - oh boy!

Enjoyed my walk with the "thick dogs." Eric -

Very nice Strat, Eric. 3 of my dogs were "skunked" last Thurs. The house and garage still smell. Now that it's raining here, the wet brings out the odor on the dogs, too, despite being bathed. Good luck on the Dog Show.
Is it confirmation?

In answer to your question, job, I'm not sure what to call the color. The closest I can come is a very light taupe.

Great morning stories Eric and Perry (that Borso looks great... are there more pictures somewhere?)

Fortunately I've only been skunked a couple of times on ebay. 8^o

AL: If you ever get tired of that Optimo Silverbelly, let me know. Smooth!

This is a wool felted hat. It came out pretty good. The felted edge is ALMOST perfect.

Since it is -3°C outside and I nevertheless wanted to go for a walk with a friend of mine, I wore my "Authentic Indiana Jones" Fedora made by Mayser. It is anything but authentic - but made of 100% rabbit felt. So it keeps my head wonderfully warm and fits perfectly. I had it on my head for almost 3 hours - after 20 minutes I didn't even feel it any more:
(I'm terribly sorry for the lousy Laptop-camera pictures!)

Hato: Our dogs show confirmation, obedience and water trials. The confirmation events, dog beauty pagent, is my wife's enjoyment. The dogs and I enjoy that she finds passion in it.

Skunks - oh boy, do I understand. A few years ago we, dogs and I all got sprayed. I found myself disgusting smelling. I stopped eating for a couple days as the smell seemed to get into my nose and all food tasted terrible.

Boy nice hats today folks. Keep it up.

Cheers, Eric -
