Is that right? I would not have thought they would be found there. I'll check it out sometime. I would only need one or two of the right ones. I wonder who would be donating those, as I thought they were out of style since the 60s or 70s, although I don't really know.

I guess many of them are suits's orphans. It could even be that they are deliberately separated, 3-pc suits being out of fashion. I can tell you I would love to find the complete suit for some of the waistcoats (vests!) I have, their pattern being so nice.

Remember, folks who wore those clothes back then are dying off, so families are donating their "old" clothes to these places. And many times the stores don't sell the suits as a suit, they break 'em up into seperate pants, vest, and jacket to maximize the sales. I've bought at second hand stores for years. In fact I still have some BB oxford cloth dress shirts I bought one year at $1.00 ea ! I think they sell the SAME shirt nowadays for around $30/$40.00 ea :) And many times you can find felt HATS as well :)

As far as the "smirk" it's just a generational thing, ya think :)

Onward thru the Fog :)

Thanks for the compliments!

For me it came from imitating my favorite childhood villains, rather than heroes. I always admired the truly insidious "puppet-master" type villains, and most of them have great smirk/sneers. That is how I learned to smile, and now the muscles on the left side of my mouth are simply much stronger :).

Warbird, now that is what I'm talking about!:eusa_clap Well done on the look.:)

Jimmy I think you have some brim competition out there!:D

Cheers!

Dan

Strange thing is I like wider brim westerns, but like fedoras to be right around 2 1/2". I think I look OK in a OR, but my Strat, Custom V and one shorter brimmed OR get more wear than any other. On a fedora style, the Fed is the max I like to go. I have a beautiful Mr. Disney that I really love the texture and color on, but the 2 3/4" brim is not my style on the hat. That and it is almost too small at size 7, so it never gets worn.

I also won't go narrower than 2 3/8 usually. I do not like narrow brimmed hats. I have quite a few of them I just need to rid myself of.
