This is my new summer and/or travel hat, an Astuccio model specific to Bencraft Hats. The color is Steel Gray which as you can see picks up a faint blueish cast from outdoor light, it looks neutral gray indoors.
Both, hat and shirt are beautiful, to me, I choose the shirt, in México is called: Principe de Gales.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Thank you for that.

The shirt actually belonged to my late father, he had several that were received as birthday or Christmas gifts during the final year of his life but he never had a chance to wear. My mother handed a couple of them (still in the original boxes) to me a few months after he died. There was one blue one that I wore a few times but it seemed so much like something my father would wear that it made me feel...unsettled to wear it. This one I still wear a few times a year.

You've got the attitude to wear that Borsalino. It's better when like you, you give something back to the hat. Then it works best.

That's an interesting observation. I definitely get a different feeling or "vibe" wearing this hat than my Alessandria. In fact, and this is kind of weird, my first thought when I downloaded that picture was that it didn't really look like me. But now in light of the comment about the shirt, I realize that the picture has a certain element of my father's personality in it. Every now and then I get a glimpse of him when I look in the mirror and the shirt and hat seem to bring that out (although my dad didn't much wear hats).

That looks really cool, this is tempting me to get one too lol.. Looks great on you!

Thanks Jantjeuh, I am really starting to get into the wide brim hats. Im just kind of torn whether to use the "swoop" in the brim like my shorter brim hats or wear it more strait.

1950's Borsalino Pesca Thirty Alessandria Extra Superiore

Going to my grandmothers house for dinner tonight. I switched to my 1950's Borsalino Pesca Thirty Alessandria Extra Superiore. The felt is extreamly soft and the crown took shape without any steam. Vintage Borsalinos are really top notch.

..................hope this weekend treats you right ;)

Let me guess... PB Montecristi. You can have the Scotch, rikrdo. I'll take a blended Canadian any day or a Bourbon if I have to. ;)

Supernatural milan Optiscope* crown today.

* Does this Optimo/Telescope style have a name? If I've missed something please feel free to give me a education. Or shall we just coin the term? We are the experts, after all. Plus, it's my hat and I say it's an Optiscope. :D

Actually, it might be the same damn hat. I mean, not the hat, but the same or a similar model. Look at the detail on this big photo and you can see the stripes on the pug.

Aha! Well, D-guy, in that lighting you can really see the Silver Mist color true to form. The ribbon looks fantastic against that felt. Nice. :eusa_clap

Cheers,
